Flynn utilised Go's character throughout the novel as the person that Nick went to for advice when life became excessively troublesome for him. Go is his twin sister who initially knows him the best as she is virtually the only one who 'understands' him and the circumstance he was in. Additionally, Go according to Nick was not like other women, as she too loathes the kind of women Nick cannot tolerate. Go unlike Amy, doesn't ask Nick to clarify his behaviour or justify his motives, instead, she loyally remains by him even when he'd appeared to be suspicious and he'd been caught in numerous lies. This cherishing and minding demeanour of Margo shows the reader that she'd provided Nick with many traits in which Amy did not; that is why Nick
