a) Pasta started off in china and was made with rice, and then Marco Polo took the pasta to Italy. Italy began to use wheat to make the pasta.
b) Pasta is made from dough of durum wheat flour with water. It is then cooked and served with a number of dishes.

2. Italian Foods

Chicken Parmesan: This is made by just dredge chicken breasts in seasoned breadcrumbs and pan-fry until crispy and golden brown.

Spaghetti with Pork Bolognese: Traditionally from northern Italy and is described as a rich and hearty meat sauce.

Eggplant Parmesan Lasagna: Eggplant makes a wonderful substitute for meat in many Italian dishes.

Pizza Margherita: uses ingrediants such as creamy buffalo mozzarella, tomatos and fresh basil.

Brown Butter Gnocchi with Spinach and Pine Nuts: Gnocchi" are little dumplings made from potatoes, semolina, or wheat flour.

3. Italian Cheese

The main ingredient used in cheese is milk, made from cow, goat, sheep and water buffalo or a blend of these milks.

Most cheeses are added as a topping to a dish or used as ingredients for making the dish. For example parmesan is often put on spaghetti after being made, and mozzarella is used as an ingredient for pizza.

4. Italian meal

The Starter: Beetroot Risotto topped with halloumi cheese and boiled eggs. The main Course: Spaghetti carbonara, without cream, just plenty of egg and Parmesan cheese.

Dessert: Italian Sponge Fingers (Savoiardi), sweet crisp light sponge fingers also known as lady fingers.

We as Americans are always on the go; we need things fast and at our disposal. The home cooked meal is a luxury to some because many don’t have time to be home preparing meals.
