Foolishness / The Cross / 1 Corinthians 1:18-25

I was privileged to know my Grandfather Hoops whom we called “Pawpaw” as an adult because he lived until I was 33. I clearly remember the night he had his good leg amputated because of diabetes. Glenna and I sat with him in his hospital room that night. At about 3 am, as Glenna and I were dozing off, Paw Paw, suddenly and unexpectedly, sprung up from his waist and moaned. Glenna and I quickly roused in panic, and looking at him he said: “Got ya’” and chuckled.

This was the man who often accused me of foolishness because I embellished stories and made up quite a few things for fun and entertainment.
