...Americanization. Even though Americanization has significant effect in the world undeniably, the effect reduces recently. Pells also claims that “There is a sense overseas today that America’s culture exports are not as important, or as alluring, as they once today such as the cultural action is elsewhere- not so much in Manhattan or San Francisco but in Berlin and Mumbai.”(248). Americanization has less impact for other countries. Chinese audiences no longer go to theater to watch Hollywood movies as frequently as before. Also, individuals do not love American food blindly since local restaurants are rising up to compete with American food. In addition, Americanization is not only losing impact overseas, it is also invaded by foreign culture such as language. Foreign languages thrive with more and more people immigrant into America, and new immigrants bring their own culture to embed Americanization. Therefore, Americanization impacts less in the world and also invaded by other culture, which reflect in decreasing market’s share in other countries’ movies rising, local foods’ equal competition, and other languages’ invasion....

...ally.[1] In fact, its major ally and largest trading partner are engaged in a Cold War power struggle. They go on to say that solving this ‘unprecedented’ situation is Australia’s greatest foreign policy conundrum for at least the next decade.[2] However, Australia’s situation is not unique, neither in the region nor in its own history. By considering the recent positions of the major political parties this essay will examine Australian and Chinese foreign policy in relation to the importance of the Australian-Chinese relationship and whether we need to choose between China and America. Lastly, I shall recommend strategies for the Australian government to implement regarding its China policy. The overarching foreign policy aim for both the ALP and Coalition is serving Australia’s national interest, which can be broadly broken down into four main goals: maintaining the territorial integrity of Australia, including the safety and security of its society and economy; ensuring regional stability and preserving the existing regional balance of power; the sea lanes that make up the arteries of international trade remain open; and responding to new security threats.[3] Included in the last goal are terrorism, international crime, unregulated population movement, and quarantine. The ALP’s foreign policy has a history of multilateral engagement as its tool to meet its aims, from Garth Evans under Hawke-Keating, to Rudd, Australia has stressed the importance of going through multilateral...

Synopsis of the Case study UNISON is Britain and Europe’s biggest trade union that represents the 1.3 million strong workforce. The case study explains in the details, the analysis of the PEST analysis of the Migrant Workers Participation Project that is being run by them in U.K now. As a part of EU, U.K allows immigration of workforce from all E.U countries except Romania and Bulgaria. UNISON intends to enroll these immigrants as a part of their organization, so that they are aware of the laws and regulations of the country. The immigrants would come to know through this about their legally allowed working hours, taxes etc., which otherwise they wouldn’t have asked their employees, fearing losing their jobs. They also intend to help migrant workers overcome issues in various different ways, e.g. producing workers’ rights leaflets in 11 different languages. It also intends to enlighten the employers about the issue and help them in communicating to their immigrant worker population. This is being done as the immigrant population has benefited the U.K economy by adding workforce in various fields,...

...Do you agree with the suggestion that English foreign policy achieved relative success in the period 1509-1525? A case can be made that that the English foreign policy was a failure because of Wolsey’s mishandlings of the finance. For example in source 1 it states that ‘greatest weakness lay in the realm of finance’. This shows us that Wolsey did not know what he was doing when it came to finance which would have helped English foreign policy. Wolsey mishandling of finance would have led to less to money to help Henry invade France and therefore make on this part of his foreign policy, which was to take over France and to redeem his title as king of France , a failure because he didn’t really take over the whole off France. The whole real parts that henry had taken over of France was Tournai and Therouanne, and these were of little significant to England which supports the idea that the foreign policy was a failure. We can also infer from another source which support the idea that English foreign policy was a failure. In source 3 it says ‘if he fortunate to win it’. This is referring to Henry to taking over France, and we can clearly see that the foreign policy was a failure because only luck could have helped Henry take over France. This all indicates that foreign policy was not a success owing it to Wolsey mishandling of finance which meant that Henry would not have sufficient amount of money to take over the whole of France. Once again in source 1 we can see that Wolsey had...

...Heineken Case Study The United States beer industry represents 233 million hectoliters of the world’s 1,501 million hectoliters and is a dynamic part of the United States national economy, contributing billions of dollars in wages and taxes. Within the U.S., the beer market accounts for nearly 50% of total volume of alcohol, with the import specialty and light beer segments driving growth. Heineken was established in the United States in 1863 and in a short time it became the world’s largest brewer with 116.8 million barrels of beer sold. Heineken’s number one position depends on the number of markets they are present with their products. Local markets are important but the international markets will provide more opportunities to grow. Exporting beer continues to boost year after year. In 2006 the increase was over 18% compared to 2005. The United States exported approximately 34.4 million hectoliters of beer in 2006 compared to 29.9 million hectoliters in 2005. Heineken expands constantly and recently has purchased Hartin, 4th largest brewer in China, and invested $33M in convertible bond of Tsing Tao Brewery. Heineken’s partnership with Budweiser in Italy allowed Budweiser to brew, market, and distribute “Heineken” and make use of Budweiser’s distribution network in Europe. Heineken has been the most successful beer company in Europe and the rest of the world due mostly to the quality of their product, their marketing/advertising and their sponsorship ability. They...

...is being steadily undermined.” The anxiety sounds thoroughly contemporary. But Mr Chase's publisher, MacMillan, “set up and electrotyped” his book, “Men and Machines”, in 1929. The worry about “exporting” jobs that currently grips America, Germany and Japan is essentially the same as Mr Chase's worry about mechanisation 75 years ago. When companies move manufacturing plants from Japan to China, or call-centre workers from America to India, they are changing the way they produce things. This change in production technology has the same effect as automation: some workers in America, Germany and Japan lose their jobs as machines or foreign workers take over. This fans fears of rising unemployment. What the worriers always forget is that the same changes in production technology that destroy jobs also create new ones. Because machines and foreign workers can perform the same work more cheaply, the cost of production falls. That means higher profits and lower prices, lifting demand for new goods and services. Entrepreneurs set up new businesses to meet demand for these new necessities of life, creating new jobs. As Alan Greenspan, chairman of America's Federal Reserve Bank, has pointed out, there is always likely to be anxiety about the jobs of the future, because in the long run most of them will involve producing goods and services that have not yet been invented. William Nordhaus, an economist at Yale University, has calculated that under 30% of the goods and services consumed...
