In the article, “Four Types of Courage,” by Karen Castellucci Cox, she discusses the significant meaning of the four types of courage; physical, social, moral and creative. When she asked to name a courageous person many people picked a Hollywood hero and others picked real heroes like firefighters or soldiers. She believes our culture teaches us to view courage as a kind of combatant figure, but they come in many forms like a battered wife who finally leaves her husband, a boy who goes against his family wishes and pursues his dream of becoming an actor.
