In the article “Framing Men: Violent Women in Marguerite de Navarre’s Heptameron.”, Marcus Keller focuses on how men are framed by women in the stories that were told by the storytellers. The author specifically examines the first and last tale of Marguerite de Navarre’s Heptameron.
Most of the stories in the Heptameron include characters such as the monk, violent husbands, and respectable women who go all out to fend their honor. Women are the reason why to all these violence, yet they do not get blamed or attention for their violent acts.
