The book Shooting the Moon by Frances O’Roark Dowell is about a girl named Jamie and her brother TJ who grew up in an army family. Their dad is a Colonel. TJ, his son is fighting in the Vietnam War. Jamie and TJ’s relationship is challenged when TJ leaves for war. At the beginning of the story, Jamie and TJ’s relationship is strong until TJ went off to war, that’s when challenges began.
