In February of 1937 Franklin D Roosevelt spoke out about his decision to enlarge the Supreme Court. Franklin D. Roosevelt had an entire host of economic recovery programs that he wanted to implement as part of the New Deal. The Supreme Court at the Time, repeatedly knocked down many of his reforms as unconstitutional. Franklin D. Roosevelt feared the fate of the country hung in the balance and resolved to do something.

Franklin D. Roosevelt’s "something" was the proposal of a radical change to the Supreme Court. The formal name of this change was The Judiciary Reorganization Bill of 1937 but it is commonly known as the
