On behalf of the Freedom Socialist Party, I agree that the ideas mentioned in the platform are a significant necessity in our society. Although the Freedom Socialist Party is not one of the major third parties, I believe that it should be. For example, one of the things that were mentioned in the platform was equality to “…women, people of color, gays, and all who are exploited, oppressed and repelled…” I do not understand, still, that in this day and age, why we still have inequality. America is a “melting pot,” full of all kinds of different people. All humans should be treated equally, despite the gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and etc. we are all human, and that’s what matters. No person with a different gender/sexual orientation/ethnicity/etc.

Marxism-Leninism

...Revolution and also suitable for the early 20th century. Marx only worked in theories, so it seems that the system was no real meaning since in his minds he already made perfect sense. According to Marxist analysis, as the contradiction becomes apparent to the proletariat, social unrest between the two antagonistic classes intensifies. Thence there will culminate in a social revolution to resolve this problem. Based upon a materialist interpretation of historical development, history moved on an inevitable path from hunter-gatherer to slavery, to feudalism to capitalism to imperialism to socialism and finally achieve communism. Marxism stated that each of these stages evolve into the next stage when they were fully mature and through a process which is class struggle. In Lenin opinion, Russia was imperialist and barely capitalist, Although it had only just shaken off feudalism, this stage could be telescoped or shortened to allow for a socialist revolution. Other major revision was that Marx claimed that the peasantry was always conservative and would support the existing regime. Lenin tried to put Marx's theories into practice. Leninism is a type of political system that practices dictatorship. The Leninist revolution was led by a revolutionary vanguard party. The aim of revolution is the dictatorship of the proletariat through eliminating the capitalism. In other words it can be said that Leninism recommends the dictatorship of the working class. Furthermore, Lenin...

In practice, however, numerous theoretical problems are involved in the definition of socialism and although the Labour Party has always contained socialists both in the Parliamentary Labour party and the extra-parliamentary party, it has been convincingly argued, despite the above pronouncement of the 1945 manifesto that the Labour party is described more accurately as a social democratic party where social democracy implies support for a relatively strong, interventionist and reformist state dedicated to the improvement of the life chances of disadvantaged groups but operating in a mixed economy which is, however ...

Influencial Factor of Accounting

...CHAPTER 2 ENRIRONMENTAL INFLUENCE ON ACCOUNTING DEVELOPMENT 1 2.1 Introduction In international accounting research, environmental influence is the key to understanding one country’s accounting system. "To a large extent, accounting is a product of its environment. That is, it is shaped by, reflects, and reinforces particular characteristics unique to its national environment" (Radebaugh and Gray 1997). From the late 1960s, researchers in international accounting have tried to categorize countries according to a series of criteria, which have been developed on a deductive or conductive basis. These criteria tried to explain the reasons for accounting differences between countries; they aimed to describe and compare different systems with each other in an efficient way. There are several advantages to categorize and analyze the differences among countries: First, it promotes improved understanding of the complex realities of accounting practices, as well as the factors that shape a country’s accounting regulations; Second, it provides useful information for solving some of the important accounting problems that exist in the world. For example, it can help policymakers assess the prospects and problems of international harmonization; Third, it can assist in the training of accountants and auditors who operate internationally; And finally, it can enable a developing country to better understand the available and appropriate types of financial...

Hannah Arendt Modern Jewry

...Hannah Arendt on the History of the Modern Jew and its Ties to Totalitarianism German-born, Jewish philosopher Hannah Arendt made her literary debut with her book The Origins of Totalitarianism which she published in 1951 to discuss the roots of Naziism, Jewry, and totalitarianism as present in current society. Arendt’s work can still be looked at today as an analysis of how totalitarianism can come to be. Additionally, it can be used as a warning for signs of totalitarianism today and help prevent it from coming to power. Arendt claims modern Jewry, a product of the French Revolution, was followed by the development of anti semitism which led to the Holocaust and totalitarianism in Germany. Towards the end of the French Revolution in the...

Hitler's Germany Doc Analysis

...Movement, which pre-dated the Nazi Party by at least six years. She came from a nationalist and anti-Semitic family, and only joined the Nazi Party in August 1930. Following the advice of Adolf Stocker, who hated Jews and supported the emancipation of unmarried women, she attended social-work school and later worked as a teacher of social work in Frankfurt. Diehl constantly preached a spiritualist, quasi-Christian, and nationalist message, that went against the postwar values of Americanism, materialism, and mammonism, which threatened to overpower Volk, God, and fatherland. Diehl wholly supported National Socialist goals, the Nazi’s anti-communism and anti-Semitism, and was particularly concerned with stemming the tide of moral ‘filth’ including the campaign to legalize abortion. Diehl was installed as ‘cultural advisor’ in the Nazi Party, but by 1936 had lost any appreciable political influence or organizational role. The Document in its Historical Context The title of the document undergoing analysis is, “A New Type of Woman”, and “Principles of the National Socialist Women’s Organizations” (the document), both from the book ‘Die deutsche Frau und der National Sozialismus (The German Woman and National Socialism), and published in 1932. “A New Type of Woman”, as written by Guida Diehl, outlines what characteristics a German woman should possess, and what type of woman she should aspire to become. “Principles of the National Socialist Women’s Organization” echoes Hitler’s...

Democracy- the Myth and the Reality

...and the reality Dr. Mizanur Rahman Shelley Independent, 29 November 2012 Present times claim to manifest an “Age of democracy”. Since the beginning of the nineteen-nineties a varitable wave of democratization has been sweeping the world. This has been accompanied by a surge of open market-economy. The two systems received powerful fillips from the collapse of socialist polities and economies in the erstwhile socialist countries such as now-defunct Soviet Union and its Eastern European allies. Socialism in these lands crumbled on account of internal factors. They are still in the process of challenging transition from socialist single party states and command economies to multiparty democracies and capitalist, market friendly economic systems. Even those countries with socialist political system such as China and Vietnam are liberalizing their economies with positive results in terms of progress and prosperity. In these nations political liberalization, though at a slower pace is also gradually becoming visible. Similar changes, particularly of political system, took place outside the former or existing socialist countries. From the closing decade of the twentieth century up-to-date a large number of Asian, African and Arab countries in North Africa and Middle-East made dramatic transition from rigidly dictatorial to avowedly democratic systems. Internal and external factors blended in varied mix to bring forth this apparently welcome change. In several countries of South...

Summary Of Benjamin Gitlow's Supreme Court Case

...It was passed on December 15, 1791. Initially, the first amendment only applied to laws promulgated by the National Assembly. Start Gitlow v. New York, the Supreme Court has used the First Amendment to the states and other Court. Benjamin Gitlow used his freedom of speech to publish a "Left Wing Manifesto" against the New York government. In the trial, Gitlow argued that the Manifesto was only historical analysis and he had no intention of opposing the Government.
