...Activity 1 Consumer Profile Template 1. Executive Summary Keep in mind that not everyone will read every page of your marketing plan. Your executive summary should highlight the most important parts. It’s an overview of your marketing plan. As you go through the process of writing your plan you will refine your ideas and develop new strategies. By writing the executive summary at the very last you will be able to provide a holistic overview of your marketing plan. It is recommended that you include the following points in your executive summary: * Brief description of products or services * Define target market * Competitive advantage You need to tailor your offer so that your target customers believe that it is superior to what is offered by your competition - this is your competitive advantage. Competitive advantage can come from any element of your marketing mix - creating a superior product, more attractive designs, better service, more effective distribution or better advertising. Competitive advantage comes down to understanding what your customer values, delivering it and doing it better than your competitor. * Positioning statement Positioning is the way your product or service is defined by consumers. For example a consumer would describe a Ferrari as a prestige, high performance sports car. This perception by the consumer is due to a strategy developed by Ferrari to position itself in the prestige segment of the car market with a competitive advantage...

The analysis looks at the total team and reviewed the information such as games played, field goals attempt and percentage, free throw attempts and percentage, blocks and steals. The data was obtained from the NBA website. For the 2013 NBA stats there were 30 teams that played on the average of 82 games. Based on statistical analysis, the most important keys for team success in basketball and their relative weights, in parentheses, are field goal percentage, turnovers, offensive rebounds, free throw attempts and percentage, blocks and steals. Coaches are always looking for a better understanding of what makes up a winning team. This knowledge would help them improve the team statistics in the areas listed...

Qualitative vs. Quantitative

...Qualitative vs. Quantitative Analysis When research is being conducted you must gather data. “Data are the facts and figures collected, analyzed, and summarized for presentation and interpretation” (Anderson, Sweeney & Williams, 2005, 5.) You must differentiate the type of data before you can analyze it. “There are basically two ways to go about an analysis, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis” ("Difference between qualitative," 2011). “You can use both qualitative and quantitative reports to track the work performance of individuals, business units and your workforce as a whole” (Ciaran, John). Each type of data has its own advantages and many times analyzers use a combination of both types of data to make decisions. Qualitative and quantitative data are important to gather because they provide different outcomes. These are often used together when analyzing in order to get a full picture of a population. Qualitative data is either on the “nominal or ordinal scale of measurement and may be nonnumeric or numeric” (Anderson, Sweeney & Williams, 2005, 7.). This type of data focuses on interpreting raw data. This type of data is also known as “categorical” data. Qualitative data can be used to evaluate investments or other business opportunities. This type of data can also assist when it comes to decision making. Some believe qualitative analysis is “the foundation of a broad array of investment and financial decision-making methods” ("Qualitative analysis...

...Executive Summary Over the last few years Riordan Manufacturing has grown substantially as a company. By focusing on the companies strengths and minimizing its weaknesses the company can enjoy increased sales and production. As the popularity of the product continues to develop at an exponential rate, easier and more inexpensive ways of the manufacturing process are needed to be continuously looked at to increase production. This will be done in part by restructuring the current way the business operates. The advances in technology will allow a more rapidly, more economical, more reliable, and streamlined process that is in tune with the business model for growth. This will be done by targeting specific areas in your overall in your day to day business processes. Such areas as your receiving process which is currently in need of technological advances as seen in the current industry. This database will be ran on an IBM AS/400 that can be accessed by all the employees on site through a user friendly terminal emulation program that can be customized to suit the desired department. Where the technology gets better is that this server will also be working side by side with a new radio frequency detection system that transmits the necessary information needed for most...

Impact of Motivation on Employees Performance

...CHAPTER ONE 1.1 Introduction/Background of the Study The performance of individuals, singly and collectively, in work situations is a primary concern for managers in organizations. The effective application of human resources to accomplish organizational objectives typically requires predictable performances of a given level (quantity and quality) from every organizational member. Theorists of both cognitive and a cognitive orientations agree that managers should give considerable emphasis to tying organizational rewards to performance on the job Hamner, 1974; Porter & Lawler, 1968). The assumption (often implicit) in these attempts to encourage increased performance is that there is an additive relationship between externally mediated rewards and rewards which arise out of task performance itself. Therefore, if either one or both types of reward outcomes can be increased, total motivation or performance behaviors can be increased. In the late 1940’s a psychology professor called Harry F. Harlow (Harlow, Harlow & Meyer 1950) conducted one of the first true intrinsic motivational experiments ever performed, using a simple puzzle where a rhesus monkey needed to perform 3 simple tasks in a specific row to complete it. A simple task for a human, but a much more complex task for a little monkey. The experiment was performed on 12 primates over a 3-week period. Almost immediately the monkeys were able to solve the puzzle and they continued to solve it every time they were...

Bsop – 588 Managing Quality

...Introduction AT&T is one of the largest telecommunications carriers in the United States it is head quartered in downtown Dallas. As of 2012 it is the 7th largest company by total revenue, and 5th non-oil company behind Apple, Wal-Mart, GE and Bank of America. AT&T started as South Western Bell one of the seven Regional Bell Operating Companies created 1983 before they were ordered to break up due to the United States v. AT&T Anitrust lawsuit. Southwestern Bell changed there to SBC which also almost caused me my job because I was not expecting a call from “SBC” but rather South Western Bell. I remember answering the phone and asking the young lady to please hold while I was trying to figure out who she was with. Fast forward twelve years later and we have gone through several mergers and acquisitions and we currently have over 200,000 employees around the world. For many years AT&T has been ahead of their competitors. The innovation of their products and services assisted them in increasing their market share within the industry. Over the last couple of years, the competition has introduced several products and services that have challenged AT&T’s market share. And as we look towards the future we willingly accept that there is always room for improvement. Problem Statement We are focused on being the number one carrier in the United States and as we expand our 4g network we have discovered an issue in our quality measurements. We do not have an automated...
