I'm sorry. I should have treated this assignment like a regular paper. Instead I treated it like a screen shot with extra description. This is how I have been doing it for the ITS 310 class (minus the description that was not required). I'm familiar with the APA requirements.
Is this format going to be sufficient for the future critical-thinking assignments that will not require any extra description (the ones that will have screen-shots only)? Or should I re-format my cover pages to follow the APA

...MECN1001: Critical Thinking Component Science Fiction Course reader Semester 2, 2015 “If science fiction is the mythology of modern technology, then its myth is tragic.” – Ursula Le Guin Lecturer and course co-ordinator: Ms Linda Mabin Linda.Mabin@wits.ac.za CM, 3rd Floor, East Wing, ADU (011) 717-7064 MECN1001: Critical Thinking Course Outline Science Fiction is a genre that is growing in currency around the world as a literature of cognitive estrangement, and one that has immense universal value because of this. To distance oneself from the ascendant structures of power is to perceive the world anew, filled with potential for change. For this reason, Science Fiction is a literature of immense value for a country such as South Africa. Approaching the challenges of a nation such as this requires an imagination trained to be meticulous in its logic, but unrestrained by the restrictions of present reality. Each tutorial activity is crafted to correlate with the concerns of the lecture material. Tutorials transpose the fundamental concerns dealt with in the subject matter of the lectures and ‘activate’ these ideas by having students demonstrate their knowledge not just in the form of individual written exercises, but through the vitally necessary process of engaging their tutors and peers in structured discussion. It is thus clear that the success of a tutorial is dependent on student participation, and as clear that the success of a tutorial depends on students being intrigued...

...learned how to manage my time and decrease my stress. I learned how to use critical thinking to solve problems effectively. I have also learned ways to improve my writing skills. These are just some example of the skills that I was taught, but I learned much more. This class was just a step on my journey to receive a higher education. A higher education will help me make a better future for my family and provide me with the training to be successful. It also helps to expand my mind and better myself confidence. Time & Stress Management Since starting my online classes I have realized the importance of using my time wisely. Through class discussion I have seen how other students have some of the same problems I have come across while dealing with a busy schedule and trying to balance school at the same time. These class discussions have brought up many ideas that will help me manage my time and in doing this I am managing my stress too. I have learned not to wait to the last minute to start my assignments. Doing this allows me time to review my work and correct what I might have overlooked. I can use this skill professionally as well. If I do not wait to complete my duties until the last minute then I will allow myself time in case something unexpected happens. I would be able to deal with the unexpected event and fulfill my original duties. I have also learned how to prioritize my assignments so that I can...

How to Create Critical Thinkers

...How to Produce Critical Thinkers Esther Taylor 21 March 2015 Tanya Croft—FDENG 101 How to Produce Critical Thinkers The world is evolving. Every day new technology, apps, ideas are developing and the world is moving at a faster speed than ever before. With all this commotion it’s easy for educators to feel as though learning should be rushed along with the speed of society. However learning is a key in the evolution of the world, without continuing knowledge our ideas and developing technologies would come to a halt. Learning is essential to productivity and even more essential to learning is thinking, “the need for the ability to rationalize argument, and synthesizing new information into a cogent, reflective and logical action is surely at a paramount”(Ben Morse, 2012 p.1). Through our critical thinking we are expanding our knowledge and therefore making it possible for us to surpass our current limitations and continue to create. We need to further implement techniques and processes that will help children develop critical thinking skills at a young age so that they will be able to keep up with the fast pace at which our world is moving. Thinking is necessary, but critical thinking is a skill. “Critical thinking is thinking that assesses itself” (Center for Critical Thinking, 1996b). It is questioning every aspect of a subject until one can fully understand it’s what, how, and why. This is a skill that will help students not just in the classroom, but in every endeavor...

...Smarthinking's Tutor Response Form (Your marked-up essay is below this form.) HOW THIS WORKS: Your tutor has written overview comments about your essay in the form below. Your tutor has also embedded comments [in bold and in brackets] throughout your essay. Thank you for choosing Smarthinking's OWL; best wishes with revising your paper! Hi Denise! My name is Keren H., and I will be reviewing your submission today. Thank you for an interesting piece of research on Background Checks. In today’s review, we will revise sentence structure, word choice, and documentation. Strengths of the essay: Denise, “References” is the correct name for the heading of your page of sources. Good job! Sentence Structure: One or two of your sentences are “run-ons”. This means that two ideas “run on” into each other with no punctuation or links to separate them. Let’s see an example, and discuss how to correct the run-on:  A background check is a must in today’s business world. You never know what you may find on the applicant. What two ideas do you see here? “A background check is a must in today’s business world” is one; the rest makes up another idea. The easiest way to separate two ideas (two main clauses) is to put each in a sentence of its own. What punctuation (such as a capital letter and period) will you add, so that you have TWO sentences instead of the run-on? Visit Run-ons and Comma Splices to find more ways to revise run-ons. Word Choice: Denise, I notice that you use...

Assignment

...EDUCATION Critical thinking and analysis: a model for written assignments Sharon L Edwards W hat is critical analysis? In the author’s personal experience this question has been answered by the following statement: ‘It is being critical of the literature.’ However, this does not answer the question. A literature search also failed to provide any information on critical analysis. The justification for developing a model for critical analysis, however, was not solely the lack of available literature. Other reasons included: to provide a definition of the terms; and to help both educationalists and students interpret the concepts involved. Nurse educationalists and nursing students lack a clear understanding of the critical processes and this could severely diminish the profession’s ability to articulate issues that are imperative to the advancement of nursing practice in the future. This article recommends a model of critical analysis that can be used by students and educationalists. It suggests that critical thinking and analysis are interrelated and complementary, but not synonymous. It gives examples of the model’s components in order to clarify their meaning. The model will hopefully give students a premise on which to base their assignments, and nurse educationalists will be able to incorporate it into their teaching practice. It will also provide an element of reality to critical analysis which will prevent it from becoming so abstract and idealistic as to render...

Continuing Academic Success

...use to aid in learning that we have developed though everyday life. There are methods to learning that if used correctly can greatly increase the chances for success such as making future goals. The ability to think critically is essential to becoming a good student. By having good critical thinking skills you will produce great schoolwork and make better choices. The University of Phoenix has a vast amount of resources to aid in student learning. There are strategies to learning and tools to be explored at the university library and writing center. While everyone has different learning styles, establishing educational goals, exploring university resources, employing academic integrity, and developing excellent critical thinking skills leads to academic success. In order to be successful educational goals must be established. Koch and Nafziger (2011) believed that goals affect people’s perceptions of the future. Having goals keeps you on track and makes it clear what it takes to achieve them. According to Koch and Nafziger (2011), “We show that setting a challenging goal for future performance makes future selves strive harder: they become motivated by the fear of falling short of the goal. An increase in the goal level set today allows an individual to raise his motivation to work hard in the future.” (p. 213).
