Subject: Gaming to meet sales goals

The purpose of this memo is to inform all Colombian Personal Bankers that while conducting our internal audit, we have found that some personal bankers are practicing gaming at the time of opening the checking accounts, in order for them to meet the sales goals.
The requirement to have a XYZ checking account is to maintain five hundred dollars daily in the account and the requirement to have and ABC checking account is to maintain one thousand dollars. The first three months for each of those accounts, the customer is not required to have that money in the account, but after that period of time, the customer needs to meet the requirements. Opening a XYZ checking account gives 30 dollars profit to the personal banker sales goal, while opening an ABC checking account gives 50 dollars profit, resulting more attractive to open an ABC checking account at the time of meeting the monthly quota for the commission. Personal bankers are not disclosing the correct information to the customers at the time of the account opening, just offering an ABC checking account to them so the banker can get the commission, and after the three month trial period, the personal banker downgrades the customer account to the XYZ checking account. Due to the economic recession, customers are more likely to open the XYZ checking account which is the one that requires less daily amount, but this account is not attractive from the personal banker sales view.
Gaming is the ethical dilemma that the personal banker is confronting, as they are manipulating and misrepresenting the sales. The personal banker violated the code and did not understand that honesty, integrity and trust is essential for the business. This situation is hurting the customer, and the only person working for his benefit is the

Gaming in the Modern World

...None of us are at all unfamiliar with the term "gaming". Gaming is an extremely popular hobby in the modern world. All of us are familiar with big titles like Grand Theft Auto,Need For Speed,Assassin's Creed and others. Earlier,it was thought that gaming was only meant for teenagers, however,it not so any longer. There are no restrictions on who can become a gamer - and, trust me,all one needs to be a gamer is a passion for gaming. The gaming industry had started to thrive at the end of the Cold War years, when old timers like Mario and Contra made our day. (I still remember myself sitting in front of my TV with my Atari, killing a boss on Contra and wishing for an S gun). Since then, there has been a gradual development of the industry, promoting the creation of better games with more features than was imagined only a few years before. Big companies like Take-Two Interactive,Ubisoft,Electronic Arts, etc. have really promoted the gaming industry through their games, which mop up millions of dollars in revenue in games sales as well as sales of downloadable content offered on their games to enhance the gaming experience. Now,we have games of every generation in our hands. Be it action, adventure,RPG,racing, shooter, open world, etc. we have all it takes to enjoy atleast an hour or two before our gaming instruments (a PC or a console). The gaming industry has not only directly provided employment to many tech geniuses who would otherwise have been left unemployed or working in some office...

Sexism in Online Gaming

...Online gaming has been increase so quick and much that almost all people have some experience with it. The freedom of playing and the gamers can do whatever they want within the game to not only entertain but release some pressure from the real life as well. However, the majority of the gamers is still male-based and they used to express their feelings by saying women-offended words even with the fast increasing female gamer nowadays. No matter it's by foul-mouthed, or purpose, being called "cunt," "bitch," "slut" and other common misogynist epithets does not make people feel comfortable even for male. Some game developers want to, from their perspective, make things right which is to ban the user whoever make sexual-offended comments either in verbally or literally in order to make the online gaming community clean. Or in gamers' point of view, it's only a game. Game developers such as Bonnie Ross and Kiki Wolfkill are trying to find a way to eliminate online gaming sexual harassment. They offer permanent banning for the user that violates the regulation. Nevertheless, they sometimes do not realize the fact that people tend to do things that regulators do not allow; moreover, they can create more accounts if their accounts had been banned. The method of banning accounts while users made harassed comments is not a proper way to eliminate this type of action since people would still find ways such as symbolized words, icons, images etc.to express what they intended...

Gaming Does Help You at Time

...GAMING DOES HELP YOU AT TIMES To develop a skill in something which you are interested in also helps you use those skills in your daily life. One such sport is gaming. Though it may seem that it has no fundamental use in our day to day life, it shapes our concentration to an extent where we can utilise it for other things. It is said that non gamers can see 3 to 4 objects at a time and react, gamers can see about 6 to 7 objects at a time and the reaction time is quicker than that of a non gamer. It is seen that those who are socially awkward tend to open up while they play games online. They tend to communicate their whereabouts in the game itself which results in making new friends when there is a team game. The coordination between your eyes and your hands tend to sync according to your brain’s command which results in quick movement and fast reflexes when in the real world and not in the world of simulation and first person shooting. There are many merits in gaming but there are two sides to every coin. As much as how gaming can be useful for body control, increase in concentration, there are also a few demerits to it too. You can differentiaite gaming as team games and a single player games. Most of this generation games are of team games but there are also a few single player games which many people do play. They tend to be isolated from the social world and are confined to their “gaming chambers” as some people call them. They do not want to make many friends...

The Effects of Casinos and Gaming

...Effects of Casinos Review of Literature The Effects of Casinos and the Gaming Industry: Their negative effects outweigh the benefits Fall 2011 With the rapid growth of permitted gambling in the United States, much debate has risen over the positive and negative impacts of the gaming industry and casinos upon our society. Very little research has been done in the past to assess the influences upon our communities and our citizens. However, more and more issues are surfacing that are inducing much concern. The longer these establishments exist in our communities, the more their damaging effects are being felt. Those who are investigating this subject are coming to a unified conclusion: Casinos and gambling have many negative effects, far more than the few benefits that they provide. This country has undergone a gambling boom over the last two decades, and this popular past-time activity is still on the rise with new casinos being built every year. Before 1978, there were no casinos outside of Nevada (Grinols, 2006). Today there is some form of legalized gambling in every state except two: Hawaii and Utah. (Kearney, 2005) Commercial casino revenues increased 266% from $8.7 billion in 1990 to $31.8 billion in 1999. (NGISCR, 1999) Commercial casino revenues were recorded at $37.5 billion in 2007. (AGA, 2011) Revenues were recorded at 34.6 billion in 2010 (AGA, 2011), a staggering amount even after the drastic economic decline our economy endured in the previous...

I’m sure I’m not far off assuming this scenario or something similar has happened to many other people this day an age. It is not uncommon to find one if not more gaming consoles or computers within a household this day and age; they have become apart of our modern society and look as though they are here to stay for the long term. But what effects does the up and coming gamming culture have on our society? After taking a closer look at the topic it could be argued that those who are apart of the B. Allen 2 gaming culture are susceptible to possible violent behavior, but are also inclined towards academic success, and health benefits. “Bring on the guts, bring on gore, bring on the mayhem!” Unfortunately video games that contain content such as this are seen as possible scapegoats for exemplifying violent behavior in teens and adults in our society. For example when it was found that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were fervent players of the games Doom and Wolfenstein3D (CNN 4/22/99) many people blamed the games for the massacre to an extent. ...A lot of people don’t think that gaming is cheating on your significant other, but any time your partner spends time and energy on something in a way that detracts from the relationship, that's an affair. The escapism can easily take the form of a video game; that’s kind of the whole point. The alternate worlds and experiences lend themselves to thrill-seeking behavior. The problem is that people are struggling to connect with escapism, which can have benefits but the downfall is it leads to people feeling lonely and disconnected with people. He is neglecting his wife, because she will try to make conversation with him, and he will be busy having intimate conversations with his avatar wife or having sex with her. In my opinion he is putting too much time in his avatar relationship. I will be thinking he is having intimate conversations with an avatar, which is controlled by another woman. So he is basically having intimate conversations with another woman, which that leads to flirting and cheating. Gaming can be an affair, because it takes the place of love. So, in my opinion, Rick is cheating on Sue. If my boyfriend had a virtual life and he married avatar and was doing intimate things with her, I would have a problem with that. If it was a computer avatar, I would think that is weird, but if it was an avatar controlled by another woman that would really upset me. I do not play video games, so I really don’t understand the whole virtual life aspect, but to marry an avatar...

...In light of the strategic tactics it would be fair to comment that Sony has the upper hand at the moment. However this does not by any means suggest that there is no niche in the market for rivals. By further analysing the computing industry it is evident that consoles have the edge over PC's in the video gaming industry. The Internet is rapidly rising in use, while consoles will continue to dominate, the advent of Internet gaming could conceivably raise. Despite this dominance in the computing industry the average console price drops by around 30% in each year after it's launch. Manufacturers are aware that they only have a product life cycle of no more than two years. The market size generally grows in the second year of the product cycle despite the price cuts this is due to more software availability and discounted prices. It is apparent that the company's product life span is very much dependent on its software. The games software market is the fastest growing sub-sector, fuelled by the heavy market competition between the market leaders Sony and Nintendo. In 1999 games made for the Sony PlayStation accounted for three quarters of its income. It is known for a game to generate more income than a Hollywood film; as a consequence, well known film Stars and pop Stars help create games by providing scripts or soundtracks written for the game. The strategies which Sony and Nintendo adopt are highly influenced by the market pattern, hence the similarities in their strategies...

...1. Choose your topic. Try to make it as creative as possible; if you're given the opportunity to choose your own, take advantage of this. Choose something you're particularly interested in because this will make it easier to write; in particular, try to select the topic as a result of pressing questions you already know you want to search for answers to. Once you've decided on a topic, be sure to hone down it to a do-able topic; often a topic is initially too broad in its coverage, which will make it impossible to complete within the time and space constraints given. Narrow down your topic to something that can really be worked within the boundaries of the paper. If the topic is already chosen for you, start exploring unique angles that can set your content and information apart from the more obvious approaches many others will probably take. Finally, whatever angle your topic takes, it should be both original in approach and insightful, something the reader will be drawn into and fascinated by. * Take great care not to choose a topic and be so set on how you see the outcome of your paper that you're closed to new ideas and avenues of thinking as you work through the paper. This is known in academia as "premature cognitive commitment". The Future of Gaming

...The Future of Gaming Devry University Eng 135 Today computers are an integral part of everyday life in America. There's hardly anywhere you can go without seeing a computer in use. It has simplified the hard task of everyday life and left more free time. Many people spend that free time playing video games. Video games are a good way of stress relief, a way to get away from the realities of everyday life and into a virtual world. Some will say that video games have lead to kids being more obese because they don't get outside and play. They say that video games contribute to violence, because acts in games are reenacted by individuals. Video games have also lead to addiction like those from drugs and alcohol. Games have done more to benefit society, than harm it. Video game simulations are used in many fields from the military, education, medical, and the science field. What was once just a break from tedious task on the job has now turned into a billion-dollar industry that doesn't have any signs of slowing down. With introduction of the Nintendo Wii we now have interactive video game system that requires users to interact with the game.
