...Web or Mobile Applications- Google Drive Jonie Bonfield IT/205 Saturday, July 26, 2014 Karen Diggs Web or Mobile Applications-GOOGLE DRIVE Google.com is not only a top search engine on its own, but the majority of Google’s web applications are highly ranked as well. Google’s mission statement says a lot about what it offers- “Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.” This is not surprising, as on a regular basis we can find information on how other Google web applications- Google Forms, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Calendar have been groundbreaking for millions. For the sake of this assignment, Google Drive is the main subject of this paper. We can go into any office building throughout the world and find numerous technology devices and tools used to save and share information between other people and computers. These devices and tools can include USB flash drives, portable harddrives, memory sticks, data CDs, etc. However, all of these are disposable. Meaning they can be ruined, destroyed, erased, and stolen. How is that a benefit to our work environment? So say we saved an incredibly important research project on a USB drive, a couple of USB drives actually, just in case. What are our options if those USB drives were to disappear or get ruined somehow? How could, as they say, “the show go on”? Seriously, what are the options for us to present those barrier breaking research results to the major...

...GBS 205- Mitchell J. Pratt Example: A Judge #1 9/29/12 Elaine, who has been an employee for two months, has sued her employer, Jerry because he has fired her without any reasoning or rationalization. The job offer that Elaine received was a letter that she had been given, which mentioned that her annual salary would be $30,000 and she would receive great opportunities at the company. Although the company that hired Elaine was an at-will-employment business, Jerry decided to fire Elaine after two-months and hire a man in for her position, Kramer, who had less job experience and education then Elaine. Elaine has now sued Jerry for being terminated, she wishes to have her job back and have a steady income and an annual salary. Elaine’s lawsuit has a strong case for sexual discrimination and unlawful business ethics by her employer, ensuring that Elaine, who was given no reason for the termination and after the termination Jerry hired a man, who had less job experience and education, gets her job back. However, there are certain exceptions that favor Elaine for being mistreated and fired so abruptly. The exceptions that I believe will help Elaine in the Lawsuit against Jerry other then sexual discrimination, are as follows; Tort Exceptions, Implied-In-Fact Contracts. Statutory Exceptions, and the Public Policy Exception. Certain issues need to be considered and discussed before beginning this lawsuit to ensure that there is a legitimate case. Some things to consider are; is there...

...thus essential for elasticity in a multitenant DBMS. Our vision is a DBMS where multitenancy is viewed as virtualization in the database layer, and migration is a first class notion with the same stature as scalability, availability etc. This paper serves as the first step in this direction. We analyze the various models of database multitenancy, formalize the forms of migration, evaluate the offthe-shelf migration techniques, and identify the design space and research goals for an autonomic and elastic multitenant database. Categories and Subject Descriptors H.2.4 [Database Management]: Systems—Relational databases General Terms Design Keywords Cloud computing, multitenancy, elastic data management, database migration 1. INTRODUCTION Elasticity, pay-per-use, low upfront investment, low time to market, and transfer of risks are some of the enabling features that make cloud computing a ubiquitous paradigm for deploying novel applications which were not economically feasible...

For instance, network #1 had intrusive access via a Microsoft ISS web server to cmd.exe, which allowed complete access to the system. This was achieved through a buffer overflow attack against IIS. As such, the administrator of this network should ensure that all systems are fully patched in order to avoid known exploits. For network #2, an exploit via phpBB enabled access to the system. Network #3, “EXPLOI~1.RTF”, which a user must have downloaded, was executed, opening up a backdoor into the system. Unfortunately, as outlined in my conclusion, an in-depth analysis of this data was aborted partly due to time mismanagement and a very large course load for the term. INTRODUCTION This assignment consisted of the analysis of three different networks with their own associated log files and packet dumps. In total, the data to be analyzed consisted of 3.7 GB. In order to analyze this very large amount of...

...9-205-056 REV: APRIL 26, 2006 MIHIR A. DESAI VINCENT DESSAIN ANDERS SJÖMAN Nestlé and Alcon—The Value of a Listing Wolfgang Reichenberger, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Swiss food giant Nestlé, and Francisco Castañer, Executive Vice President (EVP), stepped into the offices of Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO). On this day in early September 2001, they had important business to discuss with the company’s CEO. As EVP, Castañer was responsible for the non-food business of the Nestlé Group worldwide. Although Nestlé was primarily known for its food brands—such as Nescafé, Perrier and Buitoni—the company had some select activities in other sectors. Its two largest non-food holdings were in fullyowned eye-care company Alcon, a producer of ophthalmic drugs, equipment for ocular surgery, and contact lens solutions, and a large stake in cosmetics giant L'Oréal. For a while now, Nestlé had discussed carving out a part of Alcon for a public listing. The larger question then, that Reichenberger and Castañer wanted to discuss with Brabeck, was what effect a carve-out would have on Nestlé’s overall valuation. Assuming further that they did list Alcon, two other questions followed suit. First, how should they arrive at an appropriate valuation of Alcon? Second, on what stock exchange should they list their Texas-based, but Switzerland-incorporated, subsidiary: in New York or Zürich? Nestlé, The World’s Largest Food Company At the beginning of the new millennium...
