Introduction: Global Presence
Operating a business on a global scale can be a thrilling yet risky advantage. With today’s standards on global trade, anyone with a fierce attitude and proper values can succeed in the international market. Unfortunately, there are those who might go in a little too hot and end up crashing and burning before liftoff. In order to avert disaster it is important to keep an open mind and have a solid strategic understanding in what we want to accomplish, where we want to accomplish it, and how we’ll implement these actions.

Question 1: What is the purpose of Domino’s adjusting their menu offerings in various locations.
In the case of Domino’s, adjustments had to be made in their menu. Massively overall, considering that pizza usually involves non vegetarian toppings as crucial factors here in North America. However in India which is known to have a much larger vegetarian crowd, changes had to be made. The Vegetarian community had to be addressed accordingly if Domino’s was to succeed in India. It didn’t stop there though, why limit the franchise to simply make one distinction of vegetarian and non-vegetarian? Domino’s continued to think out of the box and heavily monitored communities to an extent that is quite remarkable. They weren’t just after India, they were after local taste (Rai, 2015). By adjusting their menus to what the community wanted instead of what might have been better for the country over all, Domino’s rose to the top.

Question 2: What were some of Domino's considerations/changes? Describe them.
In India, Domino’s has a policy of “30 minutes or else FREE” (Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, n.d.). To have such a confident statement they have to make sure they know the area they are delivering to perfection. Many things have to be considered when making these 30 minutes deliveries. Things like roads, traffic, connecting neighborhoods, and of course employee safety are vital to keep their operations smooth as possible. Managers go through a plan with delivery personnel before sending them. They also make sure that the employees take the proper steps to being road safe by wearing protective gear such as helmets. Sadly, in other parts of the word where Domino’s is present this policy has been changed. In the Americas for example it was ended “after the hurry caused too many car accidents” (Rai, 2015).

Question 3: If your class represented your customer base, what are some of the changes you would make to a McDonald's menu? Why?
Given the large presence of Asians in the class I would proceed to analyze the diversity among them. We know for a fact that the continent of Asia is highly diverse, thus making any specific menu changes risky. What might work for one might not for the other. All things considered I would take a similar approach to what Domino’s did in India when they realized that “middle-class India places a premium,” (Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, n.d.) on food that resembles Western. Therefore some of the changes I would make to a McDonald’s menu would be mostly in the ingredients of the sandwiches. Keeping the style and shape of the sandwich is important to maintain the desired look, while still providing the consumers with something more desirable to their taste; a vegetarian patty instead of a beef patty in a Big Mac for example.
