For one to be effective and successful they must have personal responsibility. People must be held accountable for what they want to accomplish when achieving personal responsibility. By using time management and practicing self-discipline, they are able to take charge of their actions, which is a necessity in being fruitful in their daily lives. These two skills alone can help anyone lead a productive and successful life in all aspects, including college success. Time management is vital when it comes to personal responsibility. Deadlines must be met in order to show that one is responsible for the management of their time. Two effective ways of accomplishing time management are making a schedule and keeping it and setting goals for tasks that need to be completed. Practicing self-discipline by taking charge of your actions is imperative when it comes to achieving the goals that you have set for yourself. In order to stay focused on the goals that you have set for yourself, specific plans should be made. This can be done by setting both short-term and long-term goals. Short-term goals can be anything from accomplishing something within a few hours to a few months. Long-term goals are normally goals that are set to accomplish from a few months through many years down the road. To stay on track of any term goal that has been set, it is extremely helpful to reward yourself along the way as deadlines have been met. This helps you stay focused in achieving the bigger picture which is being successful in all aspects of your life. Being accountable for all your actions when it comes to personal responsibility is part of selfdiscipline. There are many ways to be accountable for yourself; having organization skills, knowing what resources are available to you, learning different ways to manage stress and not letting procrastination get in your way are just some of the ways

...Personal Responsibility Essay Rough Draft Unika Miles Gen/200 December 9th, 2013 Professor David Schemerhorn Personal responsibility for me is knowing what is expected of me within my personal life as well as knowing what is expected of me to succeed in school. Responsibility means taking care of my duties and being accountable for my actions. I understand that I have to take responsibility for everything that happens in my life and for everything that I want to happen that does not happen in my life. I also know that all actions have consequences whether they are good or bad. If I do not know and understand my personal responsibilities then it will be hard for me to prioritize what needs to be done and when. Personal responsibility is making sure that my kids are in good health because as their mother it is my responsibility as well as my duty. I have to make sure that they have the proper essentials that they need for everyday living. If my kids are not taken care of then I can not move forward in taking care of other things that need to be done. I have to make sure that my bills are paid to provide for me and my family. If the bills are not paid then we will not have the necessities that we need, like electricity, water, and heat. Also I have to make sure that me and my family have groceries because if we don‘t then we will not receive the nourishment that we need to remain healthy. Personal Ethics

...Barber GEN/200 Rough Draft October 12, 2012 Personal Responsibility The relationship between personal responsibility and school success is somewhat complex. One reason is to focus on your schoolwork. Second reason is to try and manage your time to get your work done. Finally, don't let your personal life get mixed in with your professional or school life. When someone says focus on your schoolwork. Do they mean for you to slack off and not care? Or should you push yourself and get your work done so you can pass the class? In my opinion, I think you should push forward and get the work done so you really don't have to worry about it anymore. You should always keep a clear head. Never let anyone tell you that you can't do anything. Manage time. How can we manage time if we don't have time to manage? If you put out a calendar and write what you have to do everyday. I'll say you are a good organizer. Most people like that are called "Neat People". If you have a little clutter once in a while it will not hurt you. If you manage a calendar, that's okay too. Just don't manage your whole life around it. Do you know how much fun you are having these days? I guess not after those frat parties and tailgating football games. Don't you have a paper due in less than a hour? How are you going to get it done within an hour? You probably should have gotten started when the teacher gave you the assignment. You need to keep your personal life separate from...

Personal Responsibility

...Personal Responsibility Final Draft Jordan Chase GEN/200 March 27, 2012 University of Phoenix Personal Responsibility Rough Draft "You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself" (Rohn, n.d.).The only person who can better you is yourself and if you do not take action in your own life no one else will. To achieve a successful lifestyle, and reach goals, one must have personal responsibility to make this happen.  With a schedule and proper balance of time I can make my family proud and provide a better life for them by obtaining a degree and higher education. To me personal responsibility is making sure you are bettering yourself in any way possible and be self-driven enough to recognize an area of your life that needs attention and act on it. In the Marine Corps one value they believe in is their leadership trait “To know yourself and seek self-improvement” (Scott, 2007). Constantly self-evaluate and focus on yourself both good and bad. Then try to figure what areas of your life need some work and set some goals. Goal setting is a huge aspect of personal responsibility. If you do not set goals you will not have anything to strive for and without a deadline, no motivation to achieve it. You must have something to work toward but at the same time keep the goal realistic and timely. Goals do not have to be personal but professional or academic as well. If you allow goal setting in all three...

Personal Responsability

...Personal Responsibility: The Key for Success Lydia Martinez GEN/200 November 5th, 2012 Patrick Jones Personal Responsibility Rough Draft Success, is what you are craving for? Maybe you are in the right track, maybe you are not. It all depends on what attitude you are taking or what road you decide to choose, what are your main values, and what do you really want to become in this journey called life. As a child, our parents try to impart us how to deal with school, such as do our homework and do not be late to school which are two of our major responsibilities we have by that age. Hygiene is other responsibility that our parents teach us to have daily, “keep your room clean”, “brush your teeth”, “ go to sleep before 10:00 pm”, among others. As we are growing, our responsibilities grow with us too, because now we have other interests we might need to look for a job, clean your car or mom’s car if you are in need of money, study harder, etc. After our teen ages passes by our responsibilities are double as they were before because a degree is in process, or you took a different road from what is usually “normal”, drink responsible, drive responsible, etc. Responsibility is a personal value that our parents instill us since we are toddlers and it starts as one of the primary stages of our education. Though, as we grow up this value turn into a personal decision where we decide to take it or not to be mature enough...

You can come up with many excuses on why you are not successful in college. At the end to be successful in college it comes down to you, and you alone to be personally responsible for yourself. The definition of Personal Responsibility is a set of behaviors that emphasize accountability. This means you are in charge of yourself and your success in college. You are the only one who can earn a degree; no one else will earn it for you. You need to take responsibility for your actions, do your work with integrity, be honest with your mistakes, take pride in your accomplishments, and always strive to do your best. Personal responsibility has a deep relationship with college success, and you cannot be successful in college without this relationship. Personal Responsibility

...Personal Responsibility Mario Kinsey- 9047095225 GEN/ 200 December 3, 2012 John Grattan Personal Responsibility Rough Draft Personal responsibility is self-explanatory, being responsible for OUR own actions. By definition, accountability is defined, “the quality or state of being accountable; especially: to account for one’s actions.”(“Merriam-Webster,” 2012). You take responsibility for your own actions and accepting whatever comes with the actions you choose. Personal responsibility goes lock and key with college success. College success in my eyes is a definition that would have to be given by each student because it depends on what they are trying to accomplish while attending school. If you hold ourselves accountable for our actions then you give ourselves a better chance to be successful. Also the actions you choose, affects everyone around us as well. If you decide not to write your term paper, then you have to deal with the fact that you may fail. If you decide not to do your part of group assignments, not only but also, do you have to deal with the outcome, but your choice not to do your part, it affects those in your group. You must accept the consequences of our choices. Every person has a choice and has the authority to make his own decisions. For example, Tony has a Final term paper due that carries 80% of his final grade. Tony decides not to do his final paper and goes to class. His professor asked everyone...

The Politics of Performance Appraisal

...MIT SCHOOL OF BUSINESS PGDM – Case 6 Semester - I Subject Name: Human Dynamics HOW GOOGLE CHOOSES EMPLOYEES Finding the best engineers, programmers, and sales representatives is a challenge for any company, but it's especially rough for a company growing as fast as Google. In recent years, the company has doubled its ranks every year and has no plans to slow its hiring. More than 100,000 job applications pour into Google every month, and staffers have to sort through them to fill as many as 200 positions a week. Early on, the company narrowed the pool of applicants by setting a very high bar on traditional measures such as academic success. For example, an engineer had to have made it through school with a 3.7 grade-point average. Such criteria helped the company find a manageable number to applicants to interview, but no one had really considered whether they were the most valid way to predict success at the company. More recently, the company has tried to apply its quantitative excellence to the problem of making better selection decisions. First, it set out to measure which selection criteria were important. It did this by conducting a survey of employees who had been with Google for at least five months. These questions addressed a wide variety of characteristics, such as areas of technical expertise, workplace behavior, personality, and even some nonworking habits that might uncover something important about...

Do Not Cite or Quote Without Permission E-MARRIAGE: BREAKING THE MARRIAGE MONOPOLY Adam Candeub and Mae Kuykendall ∗ ABSTRACT: This Article advocates updating the law governing marriage formation to recognize the shift in social interactions from real to virtual life. We argue that couples can use internet communications not only to marry when separated by great distance but also to choose which state’s laws will authorize their marriage. In particular, same sex couples could marry under the laws of a state that permit such unions, regardless of where they exchange vows. States inadvertently have created geographic monopolies, requiring each marriage receiving the benefits of their licensing laws to be performed within their borders. This Article’s model builds upon established precedents, such as proxy marriage and choice of law for multijurisdictional and internet contracts. Using the power of internet communications, our proposal allows states to compete over marriage’s procedures and substance. Depending on a couple’s preferences for “e-ritual” and a state’s desired level of regulatory control, couples could consume the trappings of a traditional ceremony...
