1. Collaboration to me. Is a way to waking up to communication with others and honoring their ethical perspective. Someone who is deferent than me and my ways of doing things and communicating with others. Addressing their concerns and helping to coach them into ethical behavior. Compromising to a solution that benefits all in a group or society. This really is a good way of fostering learning. A way of encouragement towards others and respect to their concerns and dilemmas to reach a goal to benefit each other and a group itself.
2. What I have learned from using the discovery wheel. My wheel is way off balance my biggest dilemma that I really need to work on is my time management. Second is my reading. I’m good at reading it’s just that I get bored really easily sometimes. Maybe it’s because I’m tired. I need to make time for rest. Gardner’s concept is very interesting. One is, that I need to analyze tasks so I can order them in a sequence of steps as a possible learning strategy. This would work with my time management I believe.
3. I believe waking up to diversity is absolutely important in today’s society. Building relationships especially with others from different cultures and overcoming stereotyping and sexism as well. I fell this outlook would defiantly foster learning by bringing a deference in ideas to the learning prospective. It’s a great way of working with people from different cultures and learning new ideas. People who can overcome diversity can build great relationships especially when it comes to learning and working together in a group to accomplish a task or assignment in a learning atmosphere.
4. My idea for a successful team, is a team that can get along and work together to overcome any and all task given in a learning atmosphere or a work project. A team that can come up with new ideas. A team who can make the time to help each other in any task. People who have the enthusiasm to succeed in any project and can work out any differences that may come up with each other or the group itself.
5. Why I think there is a potential source of conflict that may be present in a learning team situation? Maybe a deference of opinion with in the team. Everyone has an opinion on any subject, it’s in our nature. I believe there will be times when conflict will arise within the team. One important thing is to get to know each other. Our needs, our dilemmas, our education, and how we feel about the subject at matter. So we can work together as a sufficient team to overcome any tasks given to us. And to keep conflicts of opinion from overtaking us as a team.
