From this creation, we have day and night, land and water, heaven and earth. All the stars, moons, and planets are His design. Everything we see today is a result of that creation. All these things He created for His own pleasure. God desired to populate the earth. He did this with animals and humans. This means God also created man (and woman). All was flawless in the world. There was no death, no sin. Adam and Eve had a perfect relationship with each other, and with God. He had created them in His own image. He walked and talked with them frequently. He gave Adam complete control of everything in the garden, allowing them to eat “of every tree of the garden” (Gen.2:16, NKJV) except for “the tree of knowledge and evil” (Gen. 2:17, NKJV). As long as Adam followed this one rule, he and eve were welcome in the garden. This all changed when Eve allowed herself to be tempted by Satan while Adam stood idly by. At this point, all perfection came to an end. Death, both physical and spiritual, had entered the world. Adam and Eve had disobeyed God’s one commandment. The job of automatic frequency regulation is achieved by governing systems of individual turbine-generators and Automatic Generation Control (AGC) or Load frequency control ( LFC) system of the power system. 2.0 FREQUENCY VARIATION IN A SINGLE MACHINE To understand the variation of frequency in a power system, we can consider a single machine connected to an isolated load, as shown in the figure below. ...Risk and Protective Factors for Depression: Implications for Prevention Depression in Children and Adolescents Linking Risk Research and Prevention Judy Garber, PhD Abstract: The National Institute of Mental Health has called for translational research linking basic knowledge about vulnerabilities that underlie mood disorders to the development of effective preventive interventions. This paper highlights research about risk factors for depression in children and adolescents and links it to current knowledge about interventions aimed at preventing depression in youth. Basic epidemiologic and clinical research indicates that increased risk for depression is associated with being female; a family history of depression, particularly in a parent; subclinical depressive symptoms; anxiety; stressful life events; neurobiological dysregulation; temperament/personality (e.g., neuroticism); negative cognitions; problems in self-regulation and coping; and interpersonal dysfunction. These vulnerabilities both increase individuals’ chances of encountering stress and decrease their ability to deal with the stress once it occurs. Although several existing depression-prevention studies have targeted one or more of these risk factors, the efficacy of these various prevention programs for youth with different combinations of these risk factors needs to be investigated further. FBI Uniform Crime Reporting The FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Program was created by the FBI in 1929 as an official crime data-gathering program covering the entire United States. It was developed from a national initiative by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), whose goal was to develop a set of uniform crime statistics for use by police agencies and policymakers (Schmalleger, 2012, p.235). Under the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting program burglary is defined as an unlawful entry of a structure to commit a felony or theft. While the majority of the population will be exposed to some sort of trauma in their lifetime only few people will develop PTSD (Kessler 1995). With the United States being in conflicts over seas, more and more of our military men and woman are experiencing posttraumatic stress disorder but are ultimately failing to seek the medical help they need and deserve. Symptoms and Prevalence Although PTSD symptoms can begin right after a traumatic event, PTSD is not diagnosed unless the symptoms last for at least one month, and either cause significant distress or interfere with work or home life. The Septuagint and Vulgate translators adopted this title. The Latin word for song is canticum from which we get the word Canticles, another title for this book. Some English translations have kept the title "Song of Songs" (e.g., NIV, TNIV), but many have changed it to "Song of Solomon" based on 1:1 (e.g., NASB, AV, RSV, NKJV). WRITER AND DATE Many references to Solomon throughout the book confirm the claim of 1:1 that Solomon wrote this book (cf. 1:4-5, 12; 3:7, 9, 11; 6:12; 7:5; 8:11-12; 1 Kings 4:33). He reigned between 971 and 931 B.C. Richard Hess believed the writer is unknown and could have been anyone, even a woman, and that the female heroine viewed and described her lover as a king: as a Solomon.1 How could Solomon, who had 700 wives and 300 concubines (1 Kings 11:3), be the same faithful lover this book presents? He could be if he became polygamous after the events in this book took place. That seems a more likely explanation than that he was polygamous when these events occurred and just omitted reference to his other loves. Probably he wrote the book before he became polygamous.
