Socially constructed ideas of childhood are not only time but place specific. This means that many of the normal assumptions that we hold about children in the west are culturally specific in the global north seen as time of dependence where as in the global south so many children make contribution to their households. children’s identities are made and remade through everyday spaces such as home, school ect.
