Spirts is not the only thing. Competition is engrained in our DNA from the day we are born and we all have a different competitive spirit within. Competition has no racial or gender bias. Competition within has bene around for ages. Competition has shaped many cultures and is an important social building block. Competition is defined as “a contest for some prize, honor, or advantage.” There is no real historical background on competition as it is ingrained within our DNA the day we are born. We are taught at a young age to win, not lose. This is echoed within every culture and seems to be a main similarity within all cultures. Learning the word competition and how to “win” a young age is not always a good thing. Teaching children that winning is the only way is not as helpful to their future as parents may be lead to believe. Competition is prevalent in many situations from test taking to elections. A debatable quote that one may hear is “If you aren’t first, you are last.” Obviously, this isn’t the most accurate picture we should be painting about competition and teaching children but it is what it is and is throughout all cultures. ...This essay critically examines leadership style and change management strategy in relation to a particular change in clinical practice. The change made in practice was a move from open access at well baby clinic to an appointment system. The effectiveness of the leader will be demonstrated by focusing on the change process, applying leadership theory to the change and its implementation in practice. This essay also identifies implications for practice and developmental needs for the author, the team and the sphere of practice. It begins by outlining policy drivers relating to leadership within the NHS generally and health visiting specifically. It is interesting to note that despite the vast literature on leadership there is very little agreement amongst scholars on the definition of the term (Willcocks 2012; Alimo-Metcalfe and Lawler 2001). Contemporary government policies such as the Health Visitor Implementation plan (GBDH 2011) focus on the desirability of strong leadership to improve the quality of care but are equally vague on defining leadership (Willcocks 2012; Martin and Learmonth 2012). Some authors have found that the term “leader” has merely superseded the terms “administrator” and “manager” within the confines of the NHS (Martin and Learmonth 2012; Sheridan, Rastan and Foulkes 2008; Hodgetts 2012) as it confers an image of “heroism” and, as yet, carries none of the negative connotations associated with administration or management. The brand value of the 2014 Indian Premier League was estimated to be US$7.2 billion. Cricket is one of the game which includes lots of betting and predictions. Due to this reason many researchers try out different methods to introduce new models to predict the result of the match. In this report we are making an attempt to predict the outcomes of some of the most important matches that will be played in the Indian Premier league in the forth coming year from April 8 to May 29. We use the Poisson distribution to create a model with which we will be able to predict (1) if there is any Home ground advantage to the home team, 2) Probability of the total runs per over that will be scored in the match by individual teams, finally we will predict which team will win the match using this model. The report identifies and focusses on recent advances in dispersant effectiveness, toxicity, and biodegradation. Other topics such as application, use, behaviour and fate are also covered. The prime motivation for using dispersants is to reduce the impact of oil on shorelines, thus the application must be successful and effectiveness high. As some oil would come ashore, discussion remains on what effectiveness is required to significantly reduce the shoreline impact. A major issue is the actual effectiveness during spills so that these values can be used in estimates for the future. The second motivation for using dispersants is to reduce the impact on birds and mammals on the water surface. The benefits of using dispersants to reduce impacts on wildlife still remain unknown. The industry is split in two sectors: full-service restaurants (FSR) and limited-service restaurants (LSR). FSRs typically have a wait-staff; LSRs do not have wait-staff. The top five countries, in terms of total number of foodservice outlets, are: China, India, Brazil, Japan, and the US. The industry is of low concentration. Combined, the top industry players make up less than 3% of total global industry revenues. In terms of size, 2013 global sales were $2.6T, up 4.9%. The 2013 global labor force was 62.4M employees, up 2.4%. In accordance with Porter’s Five Forces framework, the forces that shape competition in the restaurant industry have a moderate to high impact on competitiveness.
