(1, Conclusion)Globalization is good for businesses because it helps companies expand productivity. (1, Premise)Within our company globalization has helped unify our companies in other states and countries. Under the Akebono Production Systems (APS), we standardize all aspects of the operation process. These range from which products are manufactured at which facility, the facilities itself, to management. Our headquarters are located in Japan, and they have a different way of doing things and want all of the facilities to be on one accord. They’ve changed the way we dress, our flow process, and has implemented training to ensure that everyone knows the proper way. They send our training group to Japan to receive their training, which is a great experience for them. Learning the way other cultures conduct their business is an eye opener and kind of exciting to me. Although we may feel that our way is working, seeing thing from another prospective is always good. If you don’t try it, you’ll never know if it works. It’s like our decision making process, and they send people in to evaluate the process that has been put in place to make us a more productive business.
We also have a new safety process that has been put in place at our walking intersections within the plant. The process was transitioned from our home plant to all of the North American plants, including our facility in Mexico. At every intersection where a forklift could be present, we have to stop, look and point to the left, look and point to the right, and finally look forward and point forward, and then proceed to walk forward.(2, Premise) At times we forget, because all of it is new to us and change is good but it is also hard to get use to.(2, Conclusion) I feel that bringing this safety rule to our plants has helped and will continue to help prevent forklift and other safety hazards, because it gives us time to pay attention to what we are doing and where we are walking. There are times when a forklift driver or tugger driver may not blow their horn at every pedestrian walk area, so we have to be aware of our surroundings. There are issues that surround other facilities, especially internationally. In 2011 our Tokyo plant was impacted by an earthquake. That disaster affected all of the facilities involved, in the aspect of production. The facilities in North America had to pick up the slack and that was kind of stressful, because we had more work on top of our work. I am glad that we were able to work together as a whole to help our international facilities survive. From the international prospective I guess that is another reason why globalization also works for them. In my opinion, I feel that many international businesses purchase companies with in the U.S. because it helps their production and boost the sale of their products. There are some other companies that choose to get products that are produced here and you have to be able to serve everyone and be available in many different aspects. What one facility can’t do or do not has the capability to do, and then the other can. The S.C. plant is the only plant in North America that has its own foundry. This means that we have the bulk of the orders for aluminum brake calipers. Those orders range from GM, Toyota, Mustang, Corvette, and Mazda. It would be nice if globalization could come in handy for us when or cast shop (foundry) goes down or has problems that another facility will be able to help us and keep us out of production trouble. At this time that is not happening, but maybe that is an area that should be evaluated and modified to assist us in our time of need. In a whole with the pros and cons of globalization I still feel that it is good for businesses.

Rodriguez Globalization Argumentative Paper Globalization is defined as “the development of an increasingly integrated global economy marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets” (Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 2015). Globalization is not good for the developed nations. Globalization could mean a higher level of imports and a substantial gain in capital but these do not guarantee economic growth.
