INTRODUCTION The purpose of this assignment is to not only assess the situation of “Sunset Prayers”, or “True to myself”; but, to describe some specific organizational initiatives that I believe will advance diversity and the human potential within the workplace. This assignment is also to evaluate my level of skills that are involved with understanding where I am and where I need to be, as far as strengthening necessary skills for being a valuable employee in connection to being a vital member knowing how competitiveness and working collaboratively with a team can increase business in global markets.
ANALYSIS
Mr. Pichowski is the manager of North Woods Appliance’s. It is located in Minnesota. Mr. Pichowski has to hire forty more temporary workers. Most or nearly all of his temporary workers are hired through an employment staffing agency called Twin Cities Staffing. (Daft, 2014). Mr. Pichowski believed that by hiring temporary workers he was saving the company much needed money, therefore; he hired the temporary workers which were Somali’s by ethnicity. The Somali’s worked very hard and were also willing to work for the pay wage that he was offering with any type of grievances. There existed only one problem for him, “Sunset Prayers”. The Somali workers had a religious ritual where they had to have a ceremonial washing of hands five times a day and then at sunset they had to have time to pray. This causes production to slow down
