Abstract
An internship, no matter in what kind of educational setting must encompass observation, inquiry, hands-on experiences, and a built relationship between the mentor and mentee. When this relationship is built, the administrative team can come together to create a vision that the school can and will reach. The day to day operations of the school will operate as normal and the professional staff puts students first. The school can look at data and as a school become transparent in the goals that have been set. When these are at the forefront of critical decision making, the school will then be able to make strides towards success.

Introduction
An internship is one that allows a principal candidate to get ready for the world of supervision and educational leadership. It allows for experiences in the field of leadership and allows the candidate to get a hands-on, real world experience. During my internship, I have had the experience of really getting to see the day to day duties of my principal as well as the instructional, visionary, collaborative, and supervision side. Betty, J. M. (2007), goes on to say,
“Collaboration must be an expectation that is supported both vocally and administratively by the principal who wants collaboration to be a commonplace occurrence in schools. Communication and visibility are crucial to the process. The principal who wishes collaboration to occur must be seen and heard discussing collaboration in the school and throughout the community.” (p. 23)
I have observed her conducting walk-throughs as well and talking to staff about concerns she sees. One thing I have noticed is when she gives constructive criticism, she always asks for the other parties input in trying to create a solution to the problem.
