Ever since the first time I rode my bike without training wheels down a mountain in Williams, Arizona, far faster than my mother was comfortable with, it was apparent that I have good balance. The following year, when I took gymnastics and won 1st place for my performance on the balance beam, it became clearer. When I entered High School, I realized that I was going to have to continue to balance, but in a new way. Now I needed to balance all of my extracurricular activities along with a rigorous curriculum. It was a tough habit to learn, but I feel that in the past three years I have mastered the skill. When I walk down the hallway on my way to class I am stopped by teammates asking me questions about the volleyball game that night, seventh

...Dissertation Draft “Work/Life Balance” PREPARED BY: Mbogo .W.A (Moi) © 2011 Abstract This study is used to determine the cultural readiness of employers and employees for work/life initiatives. There are strategies that have been used to evaluate the importance of work life balance and culture through considering the perceived managerial support that affects the employee’s decision to devote time for family and the job. It has been observed that organizational time puts a lot of emphasis through time demands and expectations that may distort or interfere with family responsibilities. In this study, the main focus is to identify how work life balance and family benefits are merged and translated to the benefits that workers get that are translated to greater commitments, reduced work/family conflicts, and reduced intention to leave. The study results will be used to confirm the issue of work life initiatives, such as the work/family culture that is related to work attitudes as well as perceived managerial supports that are linked with less intention to move away from work places. ...Summary of Poster Presentation At today's lecture we listened to other groups' poster presentation about different topics and different ways of doing those researches. Following part of the paper is going to be the sum of the presentation that we listened to but unfortunately eventhough we splited up to listen all of the presentations there is no enough space for writing about all of them so we picked seven more interesting ones for us. The next presentation was about growth and if it attract FDI. The main purpose of the research was to investigate if success in economic growth attract FDI.
