Gracie Williams is a child who has been neglected both by her father and mother. Her father left her because her mother didn’t like him anymore and kicked him out, although he was the only one that cared for Gracie. Her mother leaves her at home alone and goes out to parties coming back home drunk, unable to meet any of Gracie’s needs. Gracie doesn’t eat much as she has the lack of food at home and is unable to do anything about it. She is also absent from school a lot because sometimes her mother goes out for a long period of time and doesn’t come back home, taking the keys with her.

Due to her poor hygiene she would get infections that could be major in the end, and she would have developmental delay, especially due to fact she misses many days off school. This could cause her to lag behind in terms of her cognitive ability for her age and could make her not be willing to learn more. Similarly, she would have a low self-esteem because she wouldn’t be interacting with many people as she’d be at home alone most the time, and wouldn’t see what’s happening outside a lot. However, Gracie would not be getting enough food and this would make her become underweight, due to this she would dehydrate and could have health problems internally. Gracie can have long term effects like depression, which means she wouldn’t be a normal happy kid that she should be like.
