Introduction:

1.1 Background of the study

In getting the average of a student, through his/her participation in class, grading system is being used. This is used to provide the equivalent grades of a student. Producing their grade in a shorter time is the top purpose why it’s been develop. This is used to compute the performance of a student, have his/her exact grade within the subject and for the whole grading. Computerized grading system is used to eliminate the word “manual” in our generation.
As I study the system of St Cyr Academy, I noticed that they still using manual computations of grades, a calculator to total each student’s grade. Have a slow process of retrieving and releasing of records. On what we have today, many had changed so whatever changes environment brings we should have to mingle into it. Don’t stick to what we usually do, try other things which will make the work much better.
In connection to this, I decided to design a computerized grading system for them to align in the modification of the changing environment. Make their work in a fast and easier way. Minimize the effort they exerted and have the desired output they want in a shorter time. Lastly, storing and accessing old data can be done.

1.2 Statement of the problem

Encountering a problem is common to us human, but in every problem there’s always a solution. In the system of the school, I’ve seen that it has a slow process of grades. It can’t produce grades in a fast way. It takes time to have the desired output they want to achieve. The school has no modification to the changing environment. Based on my research, the records they have can be lost if ever they experienced unexpected calamities.
Through these problems, computerized grading system is the best solution they can have. This kind of system will make their present system a better one. The producing of grades will be as fast as they input student’s equivalent performance. In this solution, the teacher will lessen their time and effort for computing grades. Most of this, records are hard to erase, even year was gone, data that had been stored can still be retrieved. 1.3 Statement of the purpose The primary goal of this study is to make a grading system for the school and aim the following: * To create a system that will replace the present grading system of the school, that is manual * To have an alignment in the modification of the changing environment. * To prevent a delay in submission and issuance of grades. 1.4 Scope and Limitation This computerized grading system can do the things that followed: * Produce the average of each student in every subject, every grading and for the whole grading period. * Print out the grades in an understandable and informative format. * New students can be added. * Searching student’s grade can be access with a simple click. * Records that had been stored can also be edited. If this system can do what stated above, it also has its limitation. * Can’t provide the form137 of the student. * Data that had been stored cannot be deleted. 1.5 Definition of terms 1. STUDENT - a learner or someone who attends an educational institution. 2. GRADE - a teacher's evaluation of a student's performance in class. A stage or degree in a process. 3. DESIGN - refers to a plan or convention for the construction of an object or a system. 4. STORE - place where things are stored 5. SYSTEM - A set of detailed methods, procedures, and routines established or formulated to carry out a specific activity, perform a duty, or solve a problem. 6. RETRIEVE - get or find back; recover the use of. 7. PRODUCE -To bring forward, to view, to show. 8. COMPUTERIZED - To furnish with a computer or computer system. 9. COMPUTE - make a mathematical calculation or computation 10. AVERAGE - An intermediate level or degree.
