...Pursing a Masters in Business Administration Management 521 February 20, 2010 Pursuing a Masters in Business Administration Pursuing a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree to achieve a personal goal may seem ludicrous to some, but not to the individual who desires to have a solid foundation of knowledge on which to build on. An undergraduate who decides to return to school as a graduate student is investing in his or her future. According to Levy (n.d.), an MBA can open doors for an individual and expose students to the business world in terms of job functions and industry. This paper will present an argument pertaining to pursuing an MBA. Additionally, the “What’s my Jungian 16-Type Personality” assessment will take a look at benefits in pursuing this degree. As a goal oriented individual, the decision to pursue an MBA degree was the right choice. ...Running head: WRITING AN ARGUMENT PAPER Writing an Argument Paper University of Phoenix Management – MGT521 Instructor: Diane Hunt-Wagner August 20, 2012 Writing an Argument Paper The purpose of this paper is to raise and counter objectives regarding the decision to obtain a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). The impact of education on earning potential, job security, and becoming an entrepreneur will be examined. This paper will also discuss how raising and countering objections has been an aid in my own decision to get an MBA and how I embraced my decision to go back to school. Objections will be raised for reasons not to pursue a graduate degree and referenced information will be sited to support the raising and countering of the content. Why an MBA Raising Objections Business schools have long sold the promise that, like an F1 driver zipping into the pits for fresh tires, it just takes a short hiatus on an MBA program and you will come roaring back into the career race primed to win. After all, it signals to companies that you were good enough to be accepted by a decent business school (so must be good enough for them); it plugs you into a network of fellow MBAs; and, to a much lesser extent, there's the actual classroom education. Why not just pay the bill, sign here and reap the rewards? The problem is that these days it doesn't work like that. Rather, more and more students are finding the promise of business schools to be hollow. The return...

...1. How long have you known the applicant and in what connection? If applicable, briefly describe the applicant's role in your organization. Please comment on the frequency and context of your interaction. (250-word limit) Joe was selected to join JPMorgan 1 year ago. As Managing Partner, I am up-to-date on his position of excellence. I conferred with his direct supervisors to complete this recommendation. Joe is an outstanding professional, one of the most promising associates we have taken on. His input is creative, insightful and I trust him to manage our more complex tasks. Joe is highly motivated and driven by an amazing passion to succeed. He embodies a perfect mix of the attributes we look for in a consultant: personal impact, great analytics and excellent problem solving skills. He couples this with his insatiable interest in serving clients with the best possible solution. I insisted on writing this recommendation myself, as I see Joe as one of the promises of this firm and one of the great future business leaders his country. It was important for me to convey my overwhelming support of his candidacy. Upon completing my own BSc from Stanford and my PhD from Cambridge, I understand the value studying in an international setting can provide and I am very interested that this opportunity be given to Joe, a man who will know how best to use it. If Joe stays on the same trajectory there is no doubt it my mind that Joe will be sponsored for an MBA by the firm, and...
