...A Man's Best Friend A man's best friend is one that is always there for him through tough obstacles and hardships in life. George Orwell once stated, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." The relationship humans tend to have within the animal kingdom is not as civilized as it should be. When looking at it from a moral and religious perspective, humans should treat all animals equally. Statistics have shown that in developed countries such as the United States, animals such as dogs are treated far better than other animals. The question then arises, why do dogs get treated more diligently while other animals with the same mental capacity get slaughtered and consumed? By looking at "Let Them Eat Dog" by Jonathon Foer, the perception of why one should not think of dogs as superior animals and why the idea of consuming a dog should not be looked down upon in society will be thoroughly analyzed and examined. People in the United States think it’s morally wrong to eat dogs since it is a household pet. The same people who don’t eat dogs, eat other animals such as pigs, chickens, and cows, which is questionable because they still devour animals that are necessary to the environment and society today. In "Let Them Eat Dog" by Jonathon Foer, the author gives logical reasons on why we should eat dog, and why it is not harmful to the society in any manner. It's legal in 44 states to eat dog, and dog meat poses no greater health risk than any other meat....

Lecaros, to our Guidance Counselor Mr. Ronald P. Balatbat, to our beloved parents, teachers and staff, to my fellow graduates and to our friends and visitors who came to witness this graduation ceremony, a pleasant afternoon to all. It is not what a man eats, but what he digests that makes him strong not what he gains, but what he saves that makes him rich, so it is not what he reads or hears, but what he remembers and applies that makes him learned; when he is learned that is the time that he builds. It is said that it is in school where the youths are molded and their skills are developed. All these developed skills and good values taught in school will never be appreciated unless they are shown, felt and put into practice. We strongly believe that education is concerned with the development of the whole being. Therefore, even as the life of the mind is strengthened together with the physical self, the moral fiber must likewise be boosted. For true education will really guide to guarantee dynamic support, service, technology, meaningful economic and social development necessary to lay a strong foundation for growth and progress. Thus, this learning becomes a gift. It is a gift because there is a Giver, our Father in heaven. It is a gift because there are givers. They are our teachers, who...

...Speech Analysis Paper Oprah Winfrey Stanford University Graduation 2008 This speech was about three lessons that Oprah Winfrey has come across in her professional and personal life. She talked about striving to be yourself and not anyone else and how you can grasp failure and turn it around by embracing it and finding the solution, and lastly how happiness comes when you give back to others. Her first lesson was about striving to be your own self; she talked about in the beginning of her professional career when she had a job in Baltimore as a news anchor. She was constantly holding Barbara Walters as the image she wanted to be in her career and wanted to be like. So she was always trying to talk like Barbara, look like Barbara and act like Barbara… And she kept getting it wrong. She felt the need to be spontaneous and more of herself when she would read some of the headings…. Especially upsetting headings with disasters involved. So she would sometimes not pre-read any of headings until she was live so it would come across more realistic. She once covered a story of a horrible fire and afterwards ran to the scene and helped the fire victims by providing blankets. She never lost her empathy. She ran into some barriers during this job that ultimately helped her find her true purpose in life. The first barrier was that her boss let her know that they did not like the way she looked, and that they wanted to give her a new name that they thought would be more “friendly” and...

...My Experience My Experience Glenn T. McCain Jr. Psy/230 One experience that has influenced my personality would be my decision to move from Nevada to New York after graduating high school. Two months after I graduated I left home to move to New York and attend a university there. I didn’t know anyone, and I had no idea what to expect. I had always been a pretty quiet person, and I often found it hard to make friends because of how shy I was. Several weeks after arriving on campus I realized that if I wanted to fit in I would have to become more outgoing and personable. I began joining groups and socializing with people in my dorm. After several months in New York I noticed a significant change in my personality. I was more open with people, and I was not the shy and quiet girl that I had been throughout high school. I believe that my personality has been determined by both my environment as well as genetic influences. Like my mother, I seem to have a problem with high anxiety and depression. I would say that these particular factors of my personality are genetically influenced. Obviously my environment has had an impact on my Personality as well. The life-changing event of me moving across country by myself Helped shape my personality and made me more open to new experiences. ...Graduation is the action of receiving or conferring an academic degree or the ceremony that is sometimes associated, where students become graduates. The graduation ceremony is a cultural tradition that is considered a rite of passage. The ceremony marks a transition from one stage in a student's life to another. Before the graduation, candidates are referred to as grandaunts. The date of graduation is often called graduation day. The graduation itself is also called commencement, convocation or invocation. In case of study and education graduation is the meaning of getting a higher degree of three years after 10+2 from a university or college, but that degree must come under the degree of graduation. Quite apart from that though, the graduation ceremony fulfills an essential human function as a ritual of transition, in this case marking the move from student to worker. The whole idea of graduation is believed to have started in the 12th Century, introduced by scholastic monks who wore robes during the entire graduation ceremony. It has kept on evolving ever since. Gill, L. (2012, January 15). Convocation and its importance. Graduation. Retrieved August 7, 2012. Scholars, especially anthropologists, consider graduation to be a rite of passage.
