On page 190, Dana wakes up and realizes Kevin is not in the bed. She hears him in the kitchen closing and opening doors. She noticed he had a slight accent when he cursed. Dana and Kevin been in the past so long it was hard to adjust in their “real home”. Kevin had more of a hard time of adjusting when he got home than Dana. Kevin was left in the past for almost 5 years and Dana literally went back in the past for a couple hours within the same day. Their home didn’t feel like home anymore. Dana says that the Weylin home seemed more familiar to them than their home in California. It was extremely difficult to differentiate how good and calm it is in their “time”. Dana realizes how much being on Rufus’ time has affected them to a point where things that were once comfortable to them appeared foreign.…show more content… He blames Dana and he orders her to work in the fields as a reprimand. Dana is from the future, so they expected her to save his life like she saved Alice’s years ago. The expectations of Dana are high because they expect her to well-informed about different diseases and illnesses Rufus seemed to lose his kindness and he acts like a child after the burial of his father. Rufus lashes out on everyone because his father was not saved. Dana couldn’t save Tom from his heart attack and she repeatedly tried to resuscitate him. But, he was already dead before she got there. This event is important because it shows how Rufus’ lack of understanding and maturity always resurfaces no matter how much Dana tries to save him. Rufus always reverts to that cruel side of him when he is hurt
