Nearly two hundred years had passed since the Great Schism and much had already changed between the Roman Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox, many changes which proved the unity of both religions under one to be something impossible as differing issues would cause major outbreak under the same head church. By the time of 1349, the religions grew isolated from each other once again and therefore punished anyone who wanted to change into another religion. The Eastern Orthodox established
Serbian Rules which ceased anyone who wanted to change into a Roman Catholic or Muslim
(Doc 8). The laws proved to be the conclusion of the whole Great Schism after the split, the
Schism would last until 1964 when the bulls of excommunication were removed against both the religions. In conclusion, the Great Schism proved to be a split of choice by the Eastern Orthodox, a new religion with many issues of unsteady foundations which caused the Schism. Eastern Orthodox were unstable in the Catholic church and made a historical change which would not be dealt with until the 20th century. Missing voices from common Catholics, an outsider who was not bias, and the voice of more individuals from the Eastern Orthodox are needed to be able to determine different perspectives of the Great Schism.
