Beowulf and Grendel are both two healthy strong fighters. Although they are very different, both of them are considered epic heroes. But Grendel is seen as a villain to everybody in the community because of the past terror the he has caused. But humans kind of see Beowulf as a villain too because both of them are very strong and powerful men. They both have their monster like ways and kill with no remorse or motivation. Beowulf is really classified as a hero because of what he does for the community. He took broken cities from their ruler or king and captured the cities and brought in Christianity to even or balance out the pain and suffering of the families and innocent people of the community or city. Grendel on the other hand likes to evade …show more content…
Grendel was so heartless that whoever he killed, their bodies were clawed to the bones because he was so much stronger than every other person he battled. And Beowulf hated that because he didn’t want innocent humans being murdered or killed. Since Beowulf was also a strong human with a great army he wanted to battle with Grendel. But since Beowulf was all about Christianity it was hard for them to battle so Grendel kept his havoc going around thought the story. Beowulf did not like to kill whenever he didn’t have to unlike Grendel because of how religious he was. But he also liked to kill people who didn’t cooperate with what he had on and since the people of the city like him so much they classified Beowulf as a hero. Beowulf and Grendel were very different and people in the communities knew that. They felt as Beowulf actually cared about them and he showed them that he cared and would do anything for them even risking his life for them. But with Grendel they felt unprotected and they knew he would kill them before he give himself up or under the gutter. His attitude towards other people was horrible and if they got wrong with him them he would claw their bodies to the bone because he was so much stronger than everybody else but he will meet his matchup sooner or

Beowulf is the greatest surviving Old English poem, an epic that recounts the main events in the life of a legendary hero named Beowulf. Beowulf’s destiny is to fight and conquer the monsters that terrorize the kingdom of the Danes. Many events in Beowulf are directly related to the Bible, making the constant battle between good and evil one of the most important themes. Beowulf is a courageous, strong and loyal warrior. He is brave, and he has self confidence bordering on insanity, but he’s also generous and kind towards others. Beowulf shows that he has confidence when he fights Grendel without weapons. When he defeats Grendel, he demonstrates that men are capable of destroying evil if they wish to do so. Beowulf’s qualities make him the epitome of a hero. “Beowulf emphasizes values that were important to Norse warriors, such as courage, loyalty to one's king and comrades, and honor for those who fight and die bravely. The story emphasizes how fragile life and fame can be. Like any person, Beowulf must find meaning in his world while accepting the fact that he will eventually die. ...Beowulf: A Historical Masterpiece Written in approximately 750 A.D., Beowulf is the only remaining transcript of the 10th century. Even before it was written though, it had been circulated though it’s original oral narrative. Many of the events and characters tie to battles and actual figures in history that pre-date the Anglo-Saxon invasion in 450 A.D. Though originally pagan in nature, due to the Anglo-Saxon conversion to Christianity Beowulf was told through a Christian poet. The poet does reference to biblical thoughts and ideas, it’s mixed within the basic Anglo-Saxon principle. Which is pretty impressive. The fact that one can use Beowulf as a way to look at and understand the Anglo-Saxon culture, which may have been lost without it, is an historical feet all on its own. A narrator is a storyteller of any kind, whether the authorial voice in a novel or a friend telling you about last night’s party. Point of View The point of view is the perspective that a narrative takes toward the events it describes.
