In my quest to lose weight and adopt a well rounded healthy lifestyle, I made conscious efforts to lower my caloric intake and implement more protein in my diet. My 3-day meal journey consist of food that can be found in the four major food groups dairy, meat, vegetables, and bread. Turkey, fish, and cheese are just a few foods that will provide the body with efficient protein.

Bananas have very little protein but are a good source of complex carbohydrates, and are good to eat after a work out. Milk is a fairly good source of protein, try also to eat nuts, seeds, lentils, beans, and eggs. If you are not vegetarian, then fish can also be a great source of protein. Throughout the week I try and drink smoothies. Smoothies are a great way to grab a quick meal on the go and still get your daily nutritional requirements. My smoothies consist of apple juice or pineapple juice and lots of organic fruits (berries, mango, bananas, peaches) and I also add some carrots, kale, and protein powder. Insufficient intake of proper nutrients can limit the body's immunity, limit the body's ability to rebuild itself from daily punishment so that your muscles do not rebuild, it can cause you to have bowel problems, infections, decreases your ability to think and remember things - so essentially without proper nutrients, vitamins, and the building blocks of life such as protein, your body can wither away. My recorded protein was consitantce with what the dietary reference intake recommended. However, my recorded protein and carbohydrate-fat intake was a little higer than the recommened dietary reference intake (DRI). The protein in the food that I consumed in the 3-day food intake journal was not enough to substain my body needs, so to make up for that I dranked protein shakes to make up what I was missing.
