...GS1145 Ms. Ramsey April 28, 2015 Janae Boyce After reading the scenario about the student Jason, I’ve come up with his problem being he doesn’t like to complete his work labs in class. Jason blames the teacher for his bad grades because of his lack of skills. He assumes he can finish all the labs he doesn’t do in class at home but being a Friday night it is always things to do and plans that get made and before you realize it class is the next day. He is also a big procrastinator on his work causing him to fall behind when he could just stay after class and finish his lab like his other classmates. Some solution he could do would be to require out what it is that side tracks him from doing the labs, having sit down with the instructor to see what he is able to do about passing, he can also work with some of his classmates to get his lab done quicker. Another option would be able to come to class early and finish some work. Somethings he can do to make it easier for him would be to arrive on time and stay the full class. If Jason behaviors continues its possible he can fail the class and also lose his reputation in his instructors eyes as a student who does his work and is dedicated to trying to succeed in his class. Couple other negative effects are that leaving class earlier your missing out on lectures possibly and your attendance suffers. This will also affect you when it comes to getting a job if he actually completes college. If he was to get a job and did the same...

...Alden Solomon February 27, 2015 GS1145 “Techniques for adapting leaning style to leaning and working with technology” When it comes to leaning and working all people have their own techniques to understand what they’re learning or working on, and how they learn or work. Some people are visual leaners meaning they like to see things visually so it help them understand and comprehend what they are learning or working on, and some people are hands on. Meaning that these people like to be in the field leaning as they go. They need to touch feel and be more “hand on” when while they learn. Other like to read and write, and which is the most common way to learn because that how we start off in school. There is a new technique being developed by using technology. The use of technology if being used as an effective way for learning styles. Now and day teachers and or instructors are proving that with the use of technology students have been increasing leaning conductivity. In the world today technology has reached new levels on advancement placing new measures on what society calls modernism. Society has now relied on technology to make our lives easier in a work and leaning force. Technology has taken over our lives today when it comes to job training. Most companies now use computers to train their employees. Retail companies use what they call “register training” to help simulate how it would be for their employees when working on the floor. It’s a simulation which gives employees...

...Madness in Mississippi GS1145 10/6/14 ITT Technical Institute Madness in Mississippi as Rebels and Bulldogs Knock Off Top-10 Teams, article by the New York Times. Based on not only the crazy season performance of these Mississippi teams but also this very weekend where both teams pull out amazing, and unbelievable games against high ranked SEC teams. NYT is also a very reliable resource as well as very known and commonly have significant sports articles for many fans. Which leads into the topic chosen, though neither Ole Miss nor Mississippi state were not favorites for the past many years, they are proving they are not teams to be put on the bottom of the ranking’s. Also Ms.T loves football and she really wanted to hear something about football. “In what was billed as one of the biggest days in the state’s college football history.” (NYT,2014) Ole Miss as well as Mississippi St. both 5-0 and 2-0 in their division have not disappointed this season, fighting off top 10 teams this weekend. This puts both Mississippi teams tied for 3rd place in the AP top 25 ranks just under Auburn and Florida St. Ole Miss took on Alabama winning 23-17 scoring two touchdowns in the last 5 minutes of the game with a 34-yard touchdown pass which tied the game and gave the momentum in their favor to keep pushing out for their win. ...GS1145 July 26, 2014 Unit 4 Lab 1 Exploring Microsoft Excel What I have learned about Microsoft Excel, is that it’s a windows operating system Windows and Mac OS. It’s a spreadsheet application developed by Microsoft for Microsoft. A spreadsheet that holds data in worksheets charts and macros. You have to be familiar with a few things on the computer its self, like the computer mouse, menus, scroll bars, the start menu and etc. You can find Microsoft Excel by clicking the start button, and clicking Microsoft Office. Excel has a couple of different features graphing tools, pivot tables, calculation, and a few others. Excel can be your calculator its help with multiplying, adding, dividing, and subtracting. The tables on Excel are on a number and letter chain. They are data lone graphs. To me excel is a way for people to keep a track of money spent, or even paper work for businesses it can be used for a couple of things, people taking physics also will use excel. All versions of Excel including 2010 are capable of running XLM macro. Excel also has different versions. All the way up to 12.0. the difference is some have more space(rows and columns). Also people going to school for computers or already work in the field excel would be great because it also has binary, and helps you with calculations. Excel also offers passwords to open documents to modify a document, unprotect worksheets and a few others. All passwords can be removed except the password to open a document because...

...Jabian Viltz Mark Aragon Ryan Beaver Nebiz Perez GS1145 October 23, 2014 Instructor: Harper, Steed Project 1. When selecting our business we looked at many options to go with using only $5,000. Which in a typical world you wouldn’t think that it would be enough to start a business but we found out that you don’t necessarily have to have a lot of money to fund a successful business you just have to have the ambition to do so. Business selection Our business/Idea for making a profit with using only $5,000 is to come up with a lawn care crew. Essentially having a crew you will need to have money to pay your workers so we decided that we would start off doing the work or self until we made a bigger profit and became well known for our company before we looked to expand. The start-up for Lawn care will cost roughly $3,000 which will include the cost for the mowers, trimmers, bagging, seeders, brooms and other assorted items. With all that will be able to have a successful business and also have to check on the proper license for the county that we are developing the business in because many states and county have different tax affidavit, liability insurance and state tax numbers. Recurring expenses There is a lot of upkeep when having a lawn care business. You will have to make sure you have your equipment up to date and ready for the jobs you have lined up because with no equipment there is no business. You also have to advertise your business so that will...

...Jesse Caez 9/28/14 GS1145 Strategies Mr. Kramer EFSP: The Performer EFSP stands for Extraverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving. A person with this personality type is outgoing, generous, optimistic, observant and stubborn. I would say that describes me the most. An EFSP loves to entertain people. Their greatest trait is their acceptance of everyone. Often they are the center of attention, and wouldn’t want to anything else but have fun and make everybody happy. They avoid looking at long-term consequences and live in the moment. A good experience that I learned from would be my Senior Yr of High School. Towards the end of my senior year I went to more parties than I should’ve when I was supposed to be doing my homework. I almost failed 3 classes and ended up losing my GPA I wanted to have for UIC. EFSP’s are very sympathetic and concerned for others. They are very observant and can tell when there is something wrong with a friend or family member and address it with a practical solution. They don’t give good advice typically because they dislike long term planning, but are great for moral support. Most of the time I’m the “judge” when my mom isn’t home and my brother and sister are arguing. I would say I’m concerned for others but not necessarily sympathetic towards my siblings. My friend from High School felt like committing suicide after his Mom died in a car accident. He was depressed for a while, until he called one night and told me he was going to. I talked to him out...

...GS1145 Strategies for the Technical Professional Module 1 Exercise 1 I am pursuing at degree at ITT Tech because I need a career change. I have been in the restaurant industry for most of my life. I love the restaurant business, but it is very hard on my life and the schedule that I have to work does not allow me to spend much time with my daughter or socialize with others. In addition, the IT field is one that will always be in demand and offers almost unlimited growth potential. Two goals that I have set for myself are to lose 20-30 pounds in the next 3 months with exercise and diet, and to explore new and different techniques to help with my bi-polar condition. I have chosen these two goals for different reasons. My first goal deals with my overall physical health, which will also carry over to my mental health. I would like to lead a more active lifestyle, similar to what I have in the past when I was younger, which at this time I am not physically able to do. I have been advised by my doctor that I need to lower my cholesterol, so eating healthier will help accomplish this. In turn, by altering my physical health, this will have a great impact on my self-perception and help to change way of thinking. My second goal deals with bi-polar condition. It is something that I have struggled with all my life and has affected all aspects of my life. It has made it difficult for me to communicate my thoughts and feelings in appropriate ways. Two...

...EIXERCISE 1.1 Many of today’s Fortune 500 companies employ students with an ITT Technical Institute degree. To me this is reason enough to pursue an education with this Institution. The career markets are constantly changing, gone are the days when you can support a family with only a high school diploma or on-the-job experience. ITT Tech pretty much has all the bells and whistles that I was looking for. Flexible schedule, student to instructor ratio, real world instructors. A degree from Itt Tech, in my opinion is an investment for me that will pay back for a lifetime. Finally, to show my children that it’s never too late. First, I attended Southeast College of Technology in 1999, unfortunately I did not finish. Earning my degree now would fill the void that I left in 1999. To be self-sufficient rather than totally dependent on my Military and VA retirement. At any moment that retirement could be cut in half or taken away altogether. Why take that chance? To set the standard in my home that if I can do it, you can do it, no excuses. Another goal of mine is to be a better provider for my family, both spiritually and financially. Lastly, to walk across that stage with my degree in hand. First goal is not to cheat myself by not coming to class, participate when asked, stay the course. Learn as much as I can, ask for help. Do the necessary things to keep that “A”, do the little things. Finishing this class is a another step towards...

...Strategies for the technical professional There were a few questions I had about the courses at ITT-Tech. How does the Strategies for the technical professional fit in to the IT/ET work place? Is the strategies course taught for any of the other carriers that ITT offers? What type of strategies is learned in the course? I do have a few concerns not only taking the strategies course but to the whole going back to school. A huge concern of mine is being able to find a job to be able to pay for it. Another is am not a real strong public speaker. Also a big concern is being able to find the time to be a full time student, a father to two children and working full time. With all that being said I’m looking forward to going back to school and bettering myself and family. Looking forward to getting to know my classmates and learning from them. I am looking forward to leaning and implementing that into my everyday life. I’m also looking forward to completing the semester and getting on to the next. Because that means one step closer to my goals, and be a role model for my children. I do believe I possess a few strengths , skills and some experience I bring to the class. Self-motivation is one im eager to learn. Honesty is another strength I think I bring to our class. I too have a few skills I think will help me achieve my goals, listening. Some people are too quick to talk with out listening. I also am a hard worker. I work in a...

...Automatic Train Track Switching System This system is a great idea for the rail road world because there is nobody operation the system meaning there cant be no human errors. And this system is also backed up with a lot of electrical safety standards like the sensing unit photodode that ensures the reliable detection of oncoming trains. And a low power DC motor is what the track switching devise uses, connected to a communication line for the main monitoring room and the switching devise, to put the train on the tracks it has to be in. the system is also a economical and beneficial switch with a micro-controller that is easy and has a less cost to maintain. What I personally like about the system is that is can also be controlled manually from the main control room to give the system a expansion of operation. Also how the system detects a train that is head towards the switching system amuses me as well. It has track circuits to detect the train and to see the condition of the train, all in a central room. I agree that this system is a great devise to put on the rail road system due to the fact that it is precise, reliable, low cost, no human error, low cost maintenance. Authors: Md.
