When I first started in GS1115 I saw critical thinking as just not accepting a narrative or what I hear as fact, but challenging it. I now see critical thinking as doing what I was originally doing with some additions. Not only challenging what I hear but seeing it from all angles and prospective. My understanding of critical thinking has broadened to include others prospective and POV and well as looking at all sides of an issue.
The author has a PhD in creative writing. The tone of the resource was informative, relaxed, and helpful. I believe the author may have their own biases based on the way they view the word, but I don’t think they had any biases on this issue that would affect the topic. The author does not makes any assumptions, but ask questions to the reader so they can be sure to find what they need or decided on a course of action. I believe I have selected a credible source.
For the final project I use an article published by the Student Services Branch of Cal Poly University. I think the source is very credible because it’s posted on a university's website. I don’t think that the author is biased. The author is writing in a very informative tone and there’s a lot of valuable information being presented. The author is not making any assumptions in the piece at all and he or she is being very straightforward and objective.
In doing my research I chose a website created by American Institute of CPAs. The writers are, at least I believe, Certified Public Accountants. Who better to help with financial assistants than a CPAs. My honest opinion is this article was written like a textbook with an objective tone. I don’t see the author as bias, nor does he or she make any assumptions. I believe the information provided to be fact based not opinion based. I do believe the source I choose to be credible based on my situation. The suggestions offered
