...Business Research Ethics Kwantessa Chambers RES/351 August 11, 2014 Barry Adkins Business Research Ethics My ideal occupation is to become a professional stylist and open my own beauty salon. It was only fitting to find a research project that deals with hair studies. I stumbled upon an article where research was conducted on hair cosmetics. A 'healthy' head of hair is described as hair that has luster, is smooth, long and silky, bouncy, with good volume, and with no evidence of balding. You must be aware of the different textures of hair, which texture you have and what products you can use to keep it healthy. In this paper, I will summarize this article and show the correlation between hair cosmetics and ethical behavior. The hair care industry is a major factor in today’s society and is constantly changing. The focus has dramatically veered from merely cleaning to repair, increasing the tensile strength, reducing oxidative damage, and stimulating growth. Many people do not understand the fascination a woman or a man for that matter has with their hair. Newer shorter procedures to make hair look naturally more lustrous, smooth, and manageable have evolved. In this article, the author attempts to fill the lacunae in our knowledge of hair cosmetics and esthetic procedures relevant in today's rapidly changing beauty-enhancing industry (Madnani, Khan, 2013). In this research project, the unethical research practice to be avoided is the experimentation of chemicals on...

...Market Segmentation And Product Positioning Market Segmentation And Product Positioning The hypothetical company for the purpose of creating a marketing plan is Healthy Hair, Inc. The company brand name is Boss and its product offering is a unisex shampoo and conditioner in one aimed primarily at African American female and males between the ages of 18-34. According to marketing research company Mintel, sales of black hair care products in 2008 exceeded $165 million. Although a third of those sales went to corporate conglomerates like L’Oreal and Alberto Culver, who own many ethnic product lines from Soft-Sheen Carson to Mizani, there are still many independent African-American players in the hair product game (Humphrey 2010). This paper will discuss 1) The marketing segment for Healthy Hair, Inc., and why this segment was selected, 2) The target market and why these customers are targeted, 3) Healthy Hair, Inc. strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT), 4) The market position for the product. Identify the marketing segment for the product and explain why this segment was selected; The Segment A market segment is a group of customers whose likes are comparable (Iacobucci, 2010). The marketing segment for the product is based on demographics, geographic, psychological, and behavior data. Demographics The product will be geared toward African American men and women ages 18-34. ...Narrative of Adolescence Years Abstract This paper is a narrative of my adolescent years from twelve to eighteen. I label these years of awkwardness and pain off a hit show from the early nineties called, “The Growing Pains.” Similar to the characters in the show I struggled creating a personal identity and had difficulty blending in with societal norms. As a result I suffered from much insecurity, false conceptions of beauty, and depression. Up until writing this paper I felt these ideologies and feelings were better left in the past. However, I now understand these experiences shape my current beliefs and will affect my identity as a counselor. Therefore I must address these experiences and deal with them emotionally. As I relive these moments I will correlate my development with the research of the following theorist: Piaget, Erikson, and Seltzer. By showing correlation of my development with their theories I will prove many of experiences as an adolescence were typical of an American teenager. Looking into the mirror I was frustrated. Why isn’t my hair pretty? Other girls wear their hair straight. Why did mine always have to be braided? Why couldn’t I have a relaxer to smooth out my curls? I shook my head in frustration and began to look for the hot comb. On my first day of middle school I was going to look pretty like everyone else. I was going to have my hair straight and laid to the side. My mother usually kept the hot comb under the kitchen sink...

...you could smoke a pound of it and not get high. (Rice)" In addition 4.6 million members of the American Farm Bureau Federation support Hemp 100 percent. Hemp could be the most abundant natural resource, it can replace 80% of our fossil fuels, and be used for many major medicinal purposes (Kriho). It is essential that we stop the use of all fossil fuels, and deforestation to save Mother Earth. This can be accomplished with the cannabis plant hemp seizing pollution and provide the world with more than enough of its energy needs. According to Jack Herer, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, we're not only the founders of our country, but also the first growers of cannabis in America. In addition, Benjamin Franklin started the first paper mill, which made it possible to make their own books. Growing this crop was not uncommon at this day and time. In the census of 1850, 8,327 crops were established and each measured at least 2000 acres each, this commodity was found in the South. Its uses varied from rope to...

And hugest gratitude as always to Linda Evans, Patrick Plonkington-Smythe, Araminta Whitley and Celia Hayley, my boys and the board. ONE Of course I have secrets. Of course I do. Everyone has a secret. It's completely normal. I'm sure I don't have any more than anybody else. I'm not talking about big, earth-shattering secrets. Not the-president- is-planning-to-bomb-Japan-and-only-Will-Smith-can-save-the-world type secrets. Just normal, everyday little secrets. Like for example, here are a few random secrets of mine, off the top of my head: 1. My Kate Spade bag is a fake. 2. I love sweet sherry, the least cool drink in the universe. 3. I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is. 4. I weigh 9 stone 3. Not 8 stone 3, like my boyfriend Connor thinks. (Although in my defence, I was planning to go on a diet when I told him that. And to be fair, it is only one number different.) 5. I've always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken. 6. Sometimes, when we're right in the middle of passionate sex, I suddenly want to...
