...1 Review of UML The purpose of this chapter is to set the scene by reviewing the key UML concepts, the main diagram types, and the role of those diagrams within the software development process. If you're quite new to UML this will serve as a practical introduction that will help you make sense of the rest of the book, before you move on to further reading. If you're experienced with UML the chapter will serve as handy revision and you might just find some nuggets of information that have so far eluded you. Either way we'll all be moving on from roughly the same starting point: with the same appreciation of UML notation, with an understanding of relevant software development processes, and with a common bias towards .NET and the Visio for Enterprise Architects tool. The final point is quite important, and the raison d'être for this book. In recent years the body of UML literature has focused mainly on Java development and the use of modeling tools such as Rational Rose. In this book we're applying a .NET development perspective at the same time as demonstrating the so far under-documented Visio modeling tool that comes bundled with the Visual Studio .NET Enterprise Architect. With all this in mind we can now press on with the introduction to – or revision of, depending on your background – the Unified Modeling Language. What is the Unified Modeling Language? When discussing UML, we need to establish one important point right up front. The Unified Modeling...

...file pair. The main program is the driver of the whole exercise and uses (includes) all of the .h files of the different linked lists. The main program performs the following steps: 1. It begins by generating N (see below) random integers between 0 and 9 and stores them in a binary file called insert.bin. It should let the user know what numbers were generated and written. 2. It then generates another N random integers between 0 and 9 and stores them in another binary file called delete.bin. It should let the user know what numbers were generated and written. 3. It reads insert.bin one integer at a time and stores the value read into each one of the lists, keeping each list sorted in increasing order. If a number occurs more than once in the list, instead of creating a new node, it increments a count variable on the node. It should let the user know what value it read from the file and it should show the four lists with the new value inserted, identifying each type of list. To display a node, show key and count. 4. Once done reading the insert.bin file, it starts reading the delete.bin file one value at a time, deleting that value from each of the linked lists. If the value occurs in the list more than once (the count member on the node is greater than 1), it decrements the count. It is only when the count is 1 and deleting the node would make it 0 that the node is actually removed from the list and freed. It should let the user know what value it read from the file and...

...Hey hi hello First use Hello, with that spelling, was used in publications as early as 1833. These include an 1833 American book called The Sketches and Eccentricities of Col. David Crockett, of West Tennessee,[2] which was reprinted that same year in The London Literary Gazette.[3] The word was extensively used in literature by the 1860s.[4] Etymology According to the Oxford English Dictionary, hello is an alteration of hallo, hollo,[5] which came from Old High German "halâ, holâ, emphatic imperative of halôn, holôn to fetch, used especially in hailing a ferryman."[6] It also connects the development of hello to the influence of an earlier form, holla, whose origin is in the French holà (roughly, 'whoa there!', from French là 'there').[7] As in addition to hello, halloo,[8] hallo, hollo, hullo and (rarely) hillo also exist as variants or related words, the word can be spelt using any of all five vowels.[citation needed] Telephone The use of hello as a telephone greeting has been credited to Thomas Edison; according to one source, he expressed his surprise with a misheard Hullo.[9] Alexander Graham Bell initially used Ahoy (as used on ships) as a telephone greeting.[10][11] However, in 1877, Edison wrote to T.B.A. David, the president of the Central District and Printing Telegraph Company of Pittsburgh: Friend David, I do not think we shall need a call bell as Hello! can be heard 10 to 20 feet away. What you think? Edison - P.S. first cost of sender & receiver to...

...Case Study 8: Apple Inc. in 2010 By reviewing performances of each product line and analyzing the financial statements before 2010, we suggest Apple to keep all of its business segments, because personal media players and personal computers have played an important role in Apple’s longevity, and Smart phones and tablet computers are critical divers of revenues in the present and future. First, personal media players product line should not be dropped since it was not only the driver of “hallo effect,” but also the leader of personal media player industry. Dropping this product line will cause adverse conjecture about the future of Apple and affect the stock price dramatically, because this business segment created “hallo effect,” helping other products of Apple became popular with customers in the past years, which means it was considered by publics as the icon product to Apple. In addition, there is no need to drop this line. Although there were a lot of producers in the digital music players industry, Apple held 73% market share in 2010, and none of rivals with very little market share in this industry can compete with Apple. Because of the significance and absolute predominance of personal media players, Apple should not drop its media players line. Second, since personal computers is a potential market which has big growth space, and this sector is the main business for Apple, Apple should not get rid of this product line. With the worldwide recovering economy, the demand...
