A further depiction of how the temples layout shows a weak relationship between the afterlife and the profane world is highlighted through the Hathor chapel. The goddess Hathor, is known to protect and assist the dead on their final journey to the Underworld. Hathor’s chapel which is situated at the southern end of the second level has often been recognised for its type of layout. The chapel which includes a separate entrance, a vestibule, a hypostyle hall and a sanctuary has huge importance to the Queen. Such is evident within the sanctuary, where most of the sacred religious rituals were performed for the Goddess.
