Health is the absence of illness, injury or disease. Wellness is the pursuit of your best possible health and well-being. Wellness means the ability to do the things you want to do. That well-being is not just physical health. Wellness is an overall balance of your physical, social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, environmental, and occupational well-being. Health refers simply to a physical body being free from diseases. Health is a goal one can achieve while wellness is a dynamic concept that continues for a lifetime.
Wellness means that one strives for balance throughout his whole life. On the other hand, health would be that a person wants to lose weight and lower blood pressure. Once he does this, he is considered healthy. Wellness is a way to complete the person, a person with ability to live and take action. Health might be an absence of symptoms but with wellness, you have energy, your body is functioning at an optimal level. You can condition yourself to allow higher levels of health. Health is a progression of conditioning your body. As you achieve these higher levels you are working into a state of wellness.
In my case, I feel that I practice wellness. In the past four years I have managed to lose 150 pounds, lower my blood pressure, and overall feel better about myself. In my opinion if you practice wellness, taking care of yourself, you are most likely to be absent from symptoms. I do the things I want to do, like walking, working out, and playing ball. By doing this I make myself a healthier
