This final installment of Heartaches 3: Bad Boy Vibes is an action-packed romance; a continuation of Anna and Rafe’s intense relationship. H.M. Irwing was sure to create a deep and thoughtful romance novel that added action and conspiracy into what could have turned into a sappy romance. Heartaches 3: Bad Boy Vibes adds a final twist: instead of working through the struggles of two broken souls, this one became about their struggle to stay together.

Without giving any spoilers, I will say I was very happy with the ending. The twists and turns that took hold in the finale were unforeseen. I still could have gone without Anna’s co-dependency on a male counterpart, but it didn’t ruin the voice of the story for me. I only found a handful of small errors throughout: misspellings and careless errors such as typos. The sentence structure and dialogue flowed effortlessly making this an easy read.

I could get a good sense of the author’s growth while reading this series. The story-lines are emotionally accurately written and with perfectly executed plots. However, in a way, I felt somewhat detached from the characters. I would have liked to have learned more about their lives at the vocational school. The author barely touches on this aspect of them, and adding that into the story-line would have added a more well-rounded depth.

I’m giving Heartaches 3: Bad Boy Vibes 3 out of 4 stars. It was an enjoyable read although not captivating. The author shows great potential, and I’m intrigued to see what they come out with in the future. With all the twists and turns throughout this series, I feel Irwing would do great with a fantasy series (hint, hint!).
