ABSTRACT
Dried leaves are the main material in the project. The purpose of doing the project is to find an alternative if the ordinary is not available. And the researchers need to find a sufficient and a good alternative so people will not buy charcoal, instead they will do it on their house and cook their own food using this dried leaves charcoal.
Flour, water and dried leaves are the main materials of the dried leaves charcoal. To make it. First, burn a three plastic bags of dried leaves until it turn into ashes. Then, put it on a container and put a half cup of water (depends o how many ashes). Put flour and mix it carefully after that mold it to any shape and get the blower or put it on a hot surface. After it dries. The charcoal is now ready to be used.
The researchers found out that dried leaves charcoal is a good altervantive if the ordinary charcoal is not available. And both the charcoals produce same heat but don’t fire up at the same rate. But both of it can cook food, has the same color of fire and has any size. But you need many dried leaves charcoal to cook food.

INTRODUCTION
Basically, you make charcoal by baking organic material in the absence of oxygen, such as in an airtight kiln, where the material won’t burn, but instead it’ll just char and turn black. What you get out is mostly just carbon charcoal. Making it out of leaves might be a little hard, though, since you would have to compress them into a tight block to make them useable. The charcoal leaves are effective. Since the researchers saw that it also glows with heat that can be alternative charcoal.
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Charcoal is a vital energy source for the urban poor. Low-income households have a higher per Capital charcoal consumption, and with charcoal and/or fuel wood accounting for threequarters of their total household energy expenditure.
Charcoal is produced mainly for the urban areas, and it is unlikely that urban consumers can manage without charcoal as a source of energy in current conditions. Urban poor, who spend a larger proportion of their household income on charcoal and who have no other affordable energy options, particularly feel fluctuations in the price of charcoal. Thus, solutions to the “charcoal problem” need to target not simply the producer but all agents along the chain. Subsidizing alternative sources of energy such as electricity and paraffin and equipment for cooking with these fuels may help peoplay move away from current heavy reliance on charcoal.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This project aims to answer the following questions or statements:
* Can you use it as alternative for charcoal or LPG?
* Is it effective to use?
* Is it safe to use?
* Does it help our environment?
1.3 HYPOTHESES
Alternative: Dried leaves mixture as charcoal is an efficient and effective for an ordinary charcoal
Null: Dried leaves mixture as charcoal is not efficient and effective to substitute for an ordinary charcoal

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
If you burn a wood. The timber leaves in open air will become ash. Because chemical reaction of the carbon in the wood with oxygen from the aire become fire, heat, light, smokes and ash. But if we burn in closed burner, the air cannot enter, The burner process called burn without air process. This burning process is only to burn a chemical elements with oxygen like rubber, tar, wax etc in the woods. Carbon or C, the element of the woods cannot burn without oxygen from air. So that from this burner we will find charcoal.
One small field of sugar cane or corn can general tons of leaves and stalks that. For the most part are discarded as useless waste when harvest season has energy. The discarded plan materials is naturally rich in carbon which like wood chunks can be used into make home made charcoal making your own charcoal can reduce dependence on fossils fuels, make heating and working cheaper and reduce the waste in land pills.

METHODOLOGY
3.1 MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT:

3.2 GENERAL PROCEDURES:
To Come up with Dry Leaves Charcoal follow the listed Procedure/Process:
1. Use tinsnips to cut a 2-inch hole in the center of the bottom of 55 gallon steel drum. Cut four move holes around the center hole, with each positioned about 6 inches from the center hole.
2. Stuff each of the five holes with dried leaves. These leaves should be dry and abe to burn easily. These will act as fuses to begin the carbonation process inside the drum.
3. Set the drum upright on the three brick so there is space between he bottom of the drum and the ground.
4. Fill the drum up to the top with the leaves and stalks. Fill in empty spaces to reduce the flow of oxygen inside the barrel. Fill it as high as you can without interfering with the placement of the lid.
5. Light each fuse that’s sticking out of the bottom of the drum, and let the smoke fill the drum. Wait Five to 10 mins. For the thick plumes of smoke to die down. A lot of this smoke is burning of the natural oil from leaves, and you don’t want them in your charcoal.
6. Press the trigger on the pilot-light and hold it to the smokeemerging from the drum. There should be a flash of flame as the last of the oils are burned off.
7. Cover the top of the drum immediately, and remove the bricks from underneath. If even a little bit of oxygen is able to get flowng through the drum, the leaves will burn and not carbonize. Set one o he bricks on the drum lid.
8. Wait two hours or until the drum is warm, but not hot,to the touch. Remove the lid.
9. Dump the cooled, carbonized leaves into a plastic garbage bag, and crush the remants into a fire powder.
10. Mix 2 parts corn starch to 1 part water to craete thick, soupy solutio. Add the powder leaf reminants, and mix well until a thick mud is formed.
11. Place the metal pipe over the steel circle on a flat surface.Fill the pipe with the mud. Place the metal press over the top of the pipe, and hammer the mud into the pipe tightly. Lift the pipe of te steel circle and remove your briquette.
12. Repeat the process until all the mud material has been used. Dry the briquettes for one week and pack them into sealed bags. You are now ready to use the charcoal for whatever purpose you wish.

An ordinary charcoal have a color of black, it smell’s like a burning wood and have a shape of ice tube. It can be used this ordinary charcoal for 1 hour or more, it depends on how many charcoal you’ll gonna use for cooking or whatever.
While Charcoal that is made from dried leaves, flour, and water. It has a color of gray. It smells like a burning leaves. It looks like a rock. This charcoal is effective and it can be used for cooking, like just the ordinary charcoal.
4.3 CONCLUSIONS
The researchers’ therefore conclude that the charcoal leaves worked as a real charcoal. It can be used as an alternative for cooking and heating. Using these alternative charcoals could save our environment. If you have available wheat flour or starch and dried leaves, you can already make your own charcoal. The charcoal leaves are easy to do and only cheap materials needed to be done.
That’s because it also has the component of carbon and ashes. The dried leaves that were grinded have the ashes and carbons. The starch or flour acted as a binder to form briquettes.
4.4 RECOMMENDATIONS
The researchers’ recommend you to use charcoal leaves as alternative charcoals to save our environment instead of wasting the dried leaves in our surroundings, we could use it to make a charcoal. By making the dried leaves into a charcoal, we helped to clean our environment. The researchers’ recommend using it for cooking and heating.
