Simplifying Security

Before you install the program

Please check if your computer meets the system requirements specified below. Supported Operating Systems Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows 2000 are NOT SUPPORTED. Required for all installations CD/DVD drive for installation using CD Internet Explorer 6 or higher Minimum 512MB RAM Internet Connection for Activation & Updates Uninstall any other security program (firewall/antivirus program) installed in your system through Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs Close all active applications and proceed with installation.
Installing the program

Insert the CD into the CD drive and choose Install K7TotalSecurity

The Pre-Install scanner detects and cleans malware in your system to ensure successful installation. Choose the option Scan for Virus, Trojans, Spyware and other malware before Installation and click Next.

If the Pre-Install scan detects and removes malware, you will need to restart your system to complete the malware removal process.

Installation If you have an active internet connection, you may download the latest setup from the K7Computing website. Else, click Next to proceed with the installation.

Click Next to proceed with the installation.

Please read and accept the License Agreement and click Next.

The Installation wizard checks for and informs you about the presence of any other security software. If found, please uninstall other security software before you proceed with the installation.

Activation As soon as the installation is complete, the product Activation screen pops up. You will need to register and activate your product to receive regular product updates to keep your system safe. Click Next to begin the activation process.

Please provide the name and a valid email address of the user and enter the product key provided in the Installation Guide that is available in the product package. Click Next.

Fill in the other required details and click Next.

Review the details and click Next.

If you connect to the internet through a proxy, click on the option Click here to configure proxy settings and enter the required details. If you do not have an Internet Connection, the product provides you with the option of activating the product offline. Click on Click here to activate offline to proceed with offline activation. Please make a note of the System ID displayed on the activation screen. Using a system that has an internet connection, go to the K7 Offline Activation page (link provided below the System ID) and enter your Product Key and the System ID and click Submit. A product Activation code will be displayed on the screen. Make a note of this code and enter the same on the Offline Activation screen by choosing the option I have the Activation code obtained from the website.

On successful activation, your registration details are displayed on the screen. Note - Please ensure you remember this information. It will be required if you decide to uninstall the program and re-install on the same or on a different system.

If your system is connected to a network, you will need to choose an appropriate Location. Based on your selection, K7Firewall will automatically apply the correct level of protection.

Click Explore to explore the program features.

K7TotalSecurity main console The overall protection status is indicated by a green check mark on the Info Bar at the bottom of the page.

Updates Update the product with the latest virus signature database. Click on the Tasks tab and choose Click here to check for newer updates.

Choose the option Click here to update now.

Scheduling a Virus Scan Click on the Tasks tab and choose the option Manage all VirusScan Tasks.

Choose Scan My Computer and click Change.

Click on the Schedule tab.

Select the check box Enable Scheduling of this task and choose the desired date and time. Click Apply
