However, this did not satisfy the boys, especially Phil(Bradley Cooper) and so instead, they have a buttoned up pre-wedding drink, and before they know it, they wake up totally demolished inside and out in Bangkok in a cruddy hotel with amnesia, AND with one member of the party missing which they only realise after checking up on their faces. ...Decisions in Paradise The company that I work for manages Government Contracts. The office I work for is the Chicago office. We manage contracts for Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois. At any point of time the Chicago office manages twenty thousand plus contracts. Many of the contracts are due monthly. The field offices that we have in these states handle these contracts when they are in the field offices region. We recently decided that our office’s will open a facility in Kava were I will be meeting with another employee from a different office. I’ll do anything to get out of Chicago for the winter. I met up with Alex at the new field office in Kava. Alex informed me that opening this office was Chris’s idea. Cheap quality labor in Kava and this island exports a lot of different things that we can use back home. They export petroleum, coffee, spices, bananas and natural gas. Giving the contracts to the companies here on the island could be mutually beneficial. The contractors get big orders and can ship the entire product in a timely manner and do it cheaper even with the shipping costs then the contractors back in the states. There can be some pushback from the local government because they might feel like we are taking advantage. ...I have decided to write about the Joseph Biden plagiarism scandal that came to light during his first presidential run in 1988. This particular case peaks my interest because the allegations are true as they have been confirmed by Joseph Biden himself yet he seems to fail to see his actions as plagiarism. Mr. Biden is accused of copying five pages of material for a 15 page paper assignment when attending Syracuse University College of Law. While Mr. Biden did include one footnote to attribute credit to the original work, his efforts are grossly inadequate for a student in his first year of law school. ...PERIODIZATION OF TRAINING Louie Simmons Anyone training for a meet has undergone some form of periodization. Unfortunately, most have misused a system in order to peak for a meet. Progressive gradual overload, or Western periodization, is based on a hypothetical goal. So, at any time, the percent of your contest max may be off by as much as 20%. Many times the lifter is missing weights 3 weeks from the contest. This is because their expectations are too high or possibly too low. Training should be calculated by using a formula based on math, not dreams. I suggest everyone read books on periodization by noted authors such as Tudor Bompa or Vladimir Zatsiorsky. These books explain periodization in terms of micro- and mesocycles. After all, periodization is a reference to the division of training into a yearly plan, or even a 4-year plan, i.e., an Olympic cycle. This system is used for weight lifting, powerlifting, and track and field, and of course should be used for all sports requiring the development of power. The former Soviet Union had so much data on training that they did not know what some top coaches were doing. Mel Siff (`!Supertraining`!) asked how I arrived at our 3-week pendulum system.
