5 years in upper age limit provided they have rendered a minimum of 3 years continuous service in the Government of India Offices/ departments on posts in the same line/allied cadre as on last date of receipt of application in Cabinet and continue to be in such service till their appointment
Secretariat.
Candidates of Jammu & Kashmir who have ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989 will be eligible for grant of age relaxation in the upper age limit up to a maximum of 5 years.
5 years in case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers
(i)
and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military service as on last date of receipt of application.
Upto a maximum three years in the case of Defence services
(ii)
personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof.
(iii)
Upto a maximum of five years in the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years Military Service as on last date of receipt of application and whose' assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil emptoyrnent and that they will be released on three months notice of selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment.

Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes who are also covered under any other clauses of para 2 above, viz. those coming under the category of Ex-servicemen and persons domiciled in the State of J&K and Central Government Employees will be eligible for grant of cumulative age relaxation under both the categories.

SELECTION

PROCESS

The selection for direct recruitment to these posts will be based on the valid GATE marks out of 100 and personal interview carrying 25 marks respectively. A candidate has to secure a minimum qualifying marks of
40% in Personal Interview.

SCRUTINY OF APPLICATION

AND SHORTLlSTING

OF ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

FOR INTERVIEW

All the applications received in response to the recruitment notification will be scrutinised as per eligibility criteria Thereafter, all eligible candidates will be arranged in the order of merit according to marks secured in
GATE exam. Out of eligible candidates, only five times the number of vacancies will be called for personal interview, according to merit.
