1. Protoboard
A breadboard (or protoboard) is usually a construction base for prototyping of electronics. The term "breadboard" is commonly used to refer to a solderless breadboard (plugboard).
A breadboard originally was a flat wooden cutting board used to support a loaf of bread (or other foods) while it was being sliced; this original meaning is still in use, but has a new additional meaning as "a base for prototyping". The concept of "breadboarding" as prototyping is not confined to electronic design; "mechanical breadboards" have been and continue to be used by mechanical engineers.
Because the solderless breadboard for electronics does not require soldering, it is reusable. This makes it easy to use for creating temporary prototypes and experimenting with circuit design. Older breadboard types did not have this property. A stripboard (veroboard) and similar prototyping printed circuit boards, which are used to build semi-permanent soldered prototypes or one-offs, cannot easily be reused. A variety of electronic systems may be prototyped by using breadboards, from small analog and digital circuits to completecentral processing units (CPUs).

2. Resistor
A resistor is a passive two-terminal electrical component that implements electrical resistance as a circuit element.
The current through a resistor is in direct proportion to the voltage across the resistor's terminals. This relationship is represented byOhm's law:

where I is the current through the conductor in units of amperes, V is the potential difference measured across the conductor in units of volts, and R is the resistance of the conductor in units of ohms (symbol: Ω).
The ratio of the voltage applied across a resistor's terminals to the intensity of current in the circuit is called its resistance, and this can be assumed to be a constant (independent of the voltage) for ordinary resistors working within their ratings.
Resistors are common elements of electrical networks and electronic circuits and are ubiquitous in electronic equipment. Practical resistors can be made of various compounds and films, as well as resistance wire (wire made of a high-resistivity alloy, such as nickel-chrome). Resistors are also implemented within integrated circuits, particularly analog devices, and can also be integrated intohybrid and printed circuits.
The electrical functionality of a resistor is specified by its resistance: common commercial resistors are manufactured over a range of more than nine orders of magnitude. When specifying that resistance in an electronic design, the required precision of the resistance may require attention to the manufacturing tolerance of the chosen resistor, according to its specific application. The temperature coefficient of the resistance may also be of concern in some precision applications. Practical resistors are also specified as having a maximum power rating which must exceed the anticipated power dissipation of that resistor in a particular circuit: this is mainly of concern in power electronics applications. Resistors with higher power ratings are physically larger and may require heat sinks. In a high-voltage circuit, attention must sometimes be paid to the rated maximum working voltage of the resistor. While there is no minimum working voltage for a given resistor, failure to account for a resistor's maximum rating may cause the resistor to incinerate when current is run through it.
Practical resistors have a series inductance and a small parallel capacitance; these specifications can be important in high-frequency applications. In a low-noise amplifier or pre-amp, the noise characteristics of a resistor may be an issue. The unwanted inductance, excess noise, and temperature coefficient are mainly dependent on the technology used in manufacturing the resistor. They are not normally specified individually for a particular family of resistors manufactured using a particular technology.[1] A family of discrete resistors is also characterized according to its form factor, that is, the size of the device and the position of its leads (or terminals) which is relevant in the practical manufacturing of circuits using them.

3. LED (Light Emitting Diode)
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source.[7] LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many devices and are increasingly used for general lighting. Appearing as practical electronic components in 1962,[8] early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but modern versions are available across the visible, ultraviolet, and infrared wavelengths, with very high brightness.
When a light-emitting diode is switched on, electrons are able to recombine with holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy band gap of the semiconductor. An LED is often small in area (less than 1 mm2), and integrated optical components may be used to shape its radiation pattern.[9] LEDs have many advantages over incandescent light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved physical robustness, smaller size, and faster switching. However, LEDs powerful enough for room lighting are relatively expensive, and require more precise current and heat management than compact fluorescent lamp sources of comparable output.
Light-emitting diodes are used in applications as diverse as aviation lighting, automotive lighting, advertising, general lighting and traffic signals. LEDs have allowed new text, video displays, and sensors to be developed, while their high switching rates are also useful in advanced communications technology. Infrared LEDs are also used in the remote control units of many commercial products including televisions, DVD players and other domestic appliances. LEDs are used to create a new form of wireless internet access called Li-Fi, or light fidelity. LEDs are also used in seven-segment display.

4.Resistor color coding
The electronic color code is used to indicate the values or ratings of electronic components, very commonly for resistors, but also for capacitors, inductors, and others. A separate code, the 25-pair color code, is used to identify wires in some telecommunications cables.
The electronic color code was developed in the early 1920s by the Radio Manufacturers Association (now part of Electronic Industries Alliance[1] (EIA)), and was published as EIA-RS-279. The current international standard is IEC 60062.[2]
Colorbands were commonly used (especially on resistors) because they were easily printed on tiny components, decreasing construction costs. However, there were drawbacks, especially for color blind people. Overheating of a component, or dirt accumulation, may make it impossible to distinguish brown from red from orange. Advances in printing technology have made printed numbers practical for small components, which are often found in modern electronics.

5. PCB (Printed circuit board)
A printed circuit board (PCB) mechanically supports and electrically connects electronic components using conductive tracks, pads and other features etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate. PCB's can be single sided (one copper layer), double sided (two copper layers) or multi-layer. Conductor on different layers are connected with plated-through holes called vias. Advanced PCB's may contain components - capacitors, resistors or active devices - embedded in the substrate.
Printed circuit boards are used in all but the simplest electronic products. Alternatives to PCBs include wire wrap and point-to-point construction. PCBs are more costly to design but allow automated manufacturing and assembly. Products are then faster and cheaper to manufacture, and potentially more reliable.
Much of the electronics industry's PCB design, assembly, and quality control follows standards published by the IPC organization.
When the board has only copper connections and no embedded components it is more correctly called a printed wiring board(PWB) or etched wiring board. Although more accurate, the term printed wiring board has fallen into disuse. A PCB populated with electronic components is called a printed circuit assembly (PCA), printed circuit board assembly or PCB assembly (PCBA). The IPC preferred term for assembled boards is circuit card assembly (CCA), [1] for assembled backplanes it is backplane assemblies. The term PCB is used informally both for bare and assembled boards.

6. Transistor
A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify and switch electronic signals and electrical power. It is composed of semiconductormaterial with at least three terminals for connection to an external circuit. A voltage or current applied to one pair of the transistor's terminals changes the current through another pair of terminals. Because the controlled (output) power can be higher than the controlling (input) power, a transistor can amplify a signal. Today, some transistors are packaged individually, but many more are found embedded in integrated circuits.
The transistor is the fundamental building block of modern electronic devices, and is ubiquitous in modern electronic systems. Following its development in 1947 by John Bardeen, Walter Brattain, and William Shockley, the transistor revolutionized the field of electronics, and paved the way for smaller and cheaper radios, calculators, and computers, among other things. The transistor is on the list of IEEE milestones in electronics, and the inventors were jointly awarded the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics for their achievement.

Donny would never say that to his mom before cal. Not to say he didn’t back talk, but competitive and controlling were words that did not match his personality or way of speaking. They had to come from an outside force. Somebody that had enough of an influence on him to entirely change his manner of speaking. He feels good when he repeats these things that Cal says because it makes him feel more like the very person that is ‘helping’ him. He knows he can’t get in trouble for saying these things because Cal said these to him so how could anybody be mad at him for just reiterating what his tutor said? This is why Donny thinks he can get away with anything. Cal almost lets Donny do about anything and when it is time to face the school or his his parents he protects him....

...A1 Unseen Paper 1 Poem- Hello Day – Worldwide This poem is about the poet imitating a radio announcement to express his desire for a worldwide Hello Day to break through social barriers, which exist in daily life. The title of the poem is ambiguous and at first sight absurd and provocative. ‘Hello’ has denotations of greeting and connotations of friendliness. The parenthesis help to establish the setting of the poem, which is possibly a radio station, where an announcement is being made, or this could simply be a part of the poets imagination. ‘World Hello Day’ is possibly a day fabricated by the poet. In the first stanza, distance and unfamiliarity is created with the use of the pronoun ‘their’. A hyperbole is used to describe the hostility that exists in the opposing town, as good morning is considered ‘offensive’. This reveals the poets dissatisfaction towards people in ‘their town’. The poet imitates the people in the other town by inserting sophisticated and aggressive diction, which also portrays the tense atmosphere in the other town. The word ‘unsolicited’ not only highlights coldness and dissociation, but also is suggestive of conventions that exist in modern society. The word ‘provocative’ shows the poets feeling of bewilderment. The use of enjambment here is perhaps imitative of the persuasion of businessmen and lawyers who speak with tone. One notable celebrity is William Henry “Bill” Cosby Jr. Bill Cosby is an extremely well known celebrity in the entertainment world, and in his charity work. Television in the 1960’s showed very few racial minorities. (Hillstrom, 51) But Bill Cosby still became a successful actor and comedian against all odds. Bill Cosby also has taken part in various charity work. His most well known charity work was his work done with the Hello Friend Ennis William Cosby Foundation. His charity work was to complete a 5 year plan to address needs and capabilities of all students (“Bill Cosby”). Bill Cosby was born in Philadelphia on July 12, 1937, and was the oldest of 4 boys. His mother was Anna Pearl Cosby and his father was William Henry Cosby (“Bill Cosby: Actor, Comedian, Author” 112). Cosby lived a somewhat hard childhood. His little brother James died of rheumatic fever when he was only 6 (“Bill Cosby”). Cosby loosing his brother was a tough experience for him. Cosby also had a rough time in school as well.
