I was playing my Nintendo 3DS when all of a sudden the car came to a stop. I looked up and saw that we had stopped at my grandparent’s house in Springfield. “Why are we here?”, I asked my dad. He didn’t answer . He went inside for about 5 minutes and then came back out. He got in the car and told me, “I had to get the tickets.”
He handed each of us one red paper wristband. He told us that the place where my grandpa works was having a company picnic at the Six Flags picnic area so we had to wear the wristbands to get into the picnic. We left my grandparent’s house and continued driving.
When we got to a bridge that is close to Six Flags my dad said,
“Everyone look your windows and across the lake!”
We all looked out our windows and saw a huge roller coaster across the lake. I couldn’t wait because we were almost at Six Flags.
In about 10 minutes we arrived at the Six Flags parking lot. We parked and then waited at the tram station.
When the tram arrived at the tram station we got on and it brought us to a staircase that was painted to look like a giant pile of M&Ms. We climbed the stairs and waited in a big line to get in the park. We gave them our tickets and went through a metal detector then we entered the park.
As we walked around the park we got to the DC super heroes area. My dad looked up and said,
“Mathieu, you should go on this roller coaster with me.”
I looked up and saw the huge 208 foot drop of Bizarro.
“OK”,
I said because I had never been on a roller coaster but I would soon learn my lesson.
My dad and I waited in line for about a half an hour. While we waited in line I was so nervous. When we got to the car of Bizarro we got in. My dad couldn’t ride with me because the buckle didn’t fit him because he was too fat.
“Are you sure you want to go on alone?”,
My dad asked me.
“Yes.”,
I said. Then the car started to move slowly up the drop. “As I neared the top of the 208 foot drop I asked myself, “What have I gotten myself into?”
All of a sudden the car was now facing down and had sped up. I was so terrified that I tensed up and held on as I could. I tensed up so much that my back cracked. When the ride stopped I was so happy to get out of the car.
“That was so scary!”,
I told my dad. We went to the exit and there were screens that showed pictures that were taken by a camera while you were on the ride. My picture was so embarrassing . My dad thought it was so funny. He bought the picture and we met up with my siblings and went on rides. I was so scared to go on any rides after the Bizarro experience.
The lesson I learned from this is don’t go on the biggest and scariest ride first, start with the smaller ones. My back hurt for about a month and my dad kept the picture of me on Bizarro.

You should be relaxed with none of your muscles straining. 2. Position your baby properly Baby should be lying on his side with his whole body facing you and his knees pulled in close to your body. The steps on the next few slides will walk you through the cradle hold. [pic] 3. Support the breast as close to its natural height as possible while the baby latches on and throughout the feeding, with your thumb in line with the baby's nose and four fingers on the other side of the breast. Keep fingers and thumb well back from the nipple so they don't get in the way as baby latches on. 5. Encourage Baby to latch on properly If Baby turns his head away, gently stroke his cheek on...

Ponijao Of Namibi Documentary Analysis

...2. How are the babies similar in their development? How are they different? Give specific examples. (Refer to growth and development principles discussed in class). One similarity in the development of the babies would be their response anytime they were upset - crying. Some examples would be Mari starting to cry because other kids were crying, or Baryarjargal being whipped in the face by his older brother. Another similarity is the sequential process in which they developed. For example, each baby didn’t start walking until capable of standing, and each baby didn’t start standing until capable of crawling. However, what is different in their development is the rate at which each baby progressed in the five areas of development. While one baby may learn to walk sooner, another may learn to read at a higher level than babies their age. Another difference is the language they learn growing up. Being from different parts of the world, the babies will start to make sounds closely...

Everything Stuck to Him

... but they were crazy in love, this eighteen-year-old boy and this seventeen-year-old girl when they married. Not all that long afterwards they had a daughter. The baby came along in late November during a cold spell that just happened to coincide with the peak of the waterfowl season. The boy loved to hunt, you see. That’s part of it. The boy and girl, husband and wife, father and mother, they lived in a little apartment under a dentist’s office. Each night they cleaned the dentist’s place upstairs in exchange for rent and utilities. In summer they were expected to maintain the lawn and the flowers. In winter the boy shoveled snow and spread rock salt on the walks. Are you still with me? Are you getting the picture? I am, she says. That’s good, he says. So one day the dentist finds out they were using his letterhead for their personal correspondence. But that’s another story. He gets up from his chair and looks out the window. He sees the tile rooftops and the snow that is falling steadily on them. Tell the story, she says. The two kids were very much in love. On top of this they had great ambitions. They were always talking about the things they were going to do and the places they were going to go. Now the boy and girl slept in the bedroom, and the baby slept in the living room. Sugar Baby

...Essay Sugar Baby Imagine a little baby sitting in his back seat chair away home from his grandmother. His grandmother had gave him a chocolate finger for the trip home but just when they had left the “evil” father took it away from him and the trip was transformed from happy to noisy frustration. Is it OK to hold an innocent baby hostage in the name of generation gap and gender struggle? ”Sugar Baby” is a short Scottish story written by Fiona Gibson in 2000. The story exposes some themes of current interest about the issue of raising a child in a modern society. The story takes place in the Old Town in Edinburgh and deals with a young family consisting of a father, a mother, a baby son and grandmother who babysits from time to time. The only name we don’t hear in this short story is the baby’s name. It could be the authors way to show us who the text really is about. The baby is only an accessory in the story that the author has used to point out some other important themes. Most of all it talks to today's parents and their way of parenting their children. The father (Joe) is the main character. He is a very caring father who only wishes to do the best for his son. But when it comes to the child’s nutrition he becomes to overprotective. He does not allow the baby to eat sugar rich food and he had agreed with Helen, the mother, not to dose the child up with e-additives. Because of Joe’s young age he does not have the experience of childcare instead of examine oneself...

Do We Have to Allow Abortion

...Safi Myriame Should We Allow Abortion A baby is a human being, even if he is in his mom’s stomach. This action is not a new one, but the real debates about it have just begun because of the taboos that Islam impose. Abortion means to kill a baby when he or she is just a fetus. It has a lot of reasons, it can be wanted or sometimes a woman aborts for health reasons. However, a baby is a gift from God, and a mom who kills her baby knows that and has strong reasons to kill her own creation. Abortion may be prohibited by Islam, but nowadays, this act is considerate as a subject of conflicts between pros and cons. Therefore, I completely agree with those who fight to allowed abortion. Opponents of abortion say that this act is a crime and to kill a baby for any reason is against the law in Morocco and the punishment is prison and sometimes death penalty. They do not care on the reasons; So what can they say if I tell them that health is a reason that cannot be discussed? I found some cases that show that if a mother gives birth to a baby, she will die. Don’t they see that it is a danger for the mother? What will happen to this baby without his mother? In this case, there are some extreme cases in which the mother has AIDS or a handicap that will affect the baby. Are these risks to take just to have a baby? To care about the feelings of the baby, when he will growth is very important. It reminds me a French dwarf couple, the woman got...

Office Hours 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday Phone 918-728-2000 Fax 918-728-2001 www.southtulsapediatrics.com To the New Parents [pic] Few things that happen to your baby in the first year are more important than nutrition. As your physician, I would like to share my concerns about feeding your baby. Breastfeeding is the best feeding for your baby. I recommend it for as long as possible, preferably during the entire first year of life. In addition to giving the proper nutrition, it offers protection from disease, and fosters that special closeness between you and your baby. However, if you are unable or choose not to breastfeed—or if you are breastfeeding and have decided to switch your baby to infant formula—I have recommended what I believe to be the best infant formula for your baby. My recommendation is based on a number of factors—the nutrition the formula provides, the ingredients and quality of the formula, and how closely the formula is patterned after breast milk. Also, if I feel your baby has any special feeding needs, I’ve taken this into account when coming to my decision. After careful consideration, I’ve recommended the infant formula that I feel best meets the nutritional needs of your baby for the first full year of life. You can accept my recommendation with complete confidence. Contents [pic] ❖ Getting Started ❖ Feeding Your Newborn No Cow’s Milk Feeding Times How...

My Mother's Baby

...ENG 102 Writing Project 1 3 Oct. 2012 My Mother’s Baby In “Désirée’s Baby,” by Kate Chopin, the main character, Désirée, is shunned from her home because her baby has colored skin. Although I can’t directly relate, my mom can. Years ago, my mom had a baby with colored skin, and my grandfather did not approve, much like Armand in the story. For Armand and Désirée, it was like love at first sight, and they marry. Soon they expand their family with the birth of a baby boy. Désirée’s world is perfect until Armand starts acting strange. She has no idea what could have caused this sudden change. When Désirée confronts him about it, he indirectly tells her that it is because their baby’s skin is not pure white. He can’t accept that their baby’s skin doesn’t match his, and he asks Désirée to take the baby and leave. My grandfather is very old-fashioned. He was raised on a farm in Missouri long before the civil rights movement. His grandfather lived with him, and they were very close. His grandfather’s family had owned slaves, and my grandfather grew up believing that the white race is superior. So, when my mom married a Hispanic man in 1986, my grandfather started acting similar to Armand in “Désirée’s Baby.” In the story, Chopin writes about Désirée, “A strange, an awful change in her husband’s manner, which she dared not ask him to explain,” (Chopin 191). My mom can relate to Désirée because her own father was doing the same to her. ...
