Bookstore Inventory

Project Description:
In the following project, you will open a database containing the inventory of a bookstore, create a new table in which to store publisher information, add records, and then sort the table. You add a record using a form and print a report. You apply a filter by selection to a query and a filter by form to a table and save the results for both filters.

Instructions:
For the purpose of grading the project you are required to perform the following tasks: Step | Instructions | Points Possible | 1 | Start Access. Open the downloaded Access file named exploring_a01_grader_h1. | 0 | 2 | Create a new table in Design view. Add the following field names to the table: PubID, PubName, PubAddress, PubCity, PubState, and PubZIP (in that order). Accept Short Text as the data type for all fields. | 12 | 3 | Set the PubID field as the primary key of the new table. Save the table using the name Publishers and then view the table in Datasheet view. | 8 | 4 | Add the following records to the Publishers table:
PubID PubName PubAddress PubCity PubState PubZIPKN Knopf 299 Park Avenue New York NY 10171BB Bantam Books 1540 Broadway New York NY 10036PH Pearson/Prentice Hall 1 Lake Street Upper Saddle NJ 07458SS Simon & Schuster 100 Front Street Riverside NJ 08075 Close the table. | 12 | 5 | Open the Books table and create a new record:
AuthorCode: 15
Title: The Innocence Game
ISBN: 0-307-96125-7
PubID: KN
PublDate: 2013
Price: 24.95
StockAmt: 250 | 12 | 6 | Sort the records in the Books table by the PublDate field in descending order. Save and close the table. | 4 | 7 | Open the Maintain Authors form. In record 2 (for Keith Mulbery, AuthorID 12), add a new title to the subform:
Title: Computer Wisdom III
ISBN: 0-684-80417-5
PubID: PH
PubDate: 2014
Price: 32
StockAmt: 42 | 12 | 8 | Use the Navigation bar to search for AuthorID 16, and then edit the subform so that the StockAmt is 6 instead of 496 for the book Follow the Stars Home. | 8 | 9 | Open the Publishers, Books, and Authors report and check that the report shows three books listing Keith Mulbery as author. View the layout of the report in Print Preview and then print the report. Open the Publishers, Books, and Authors query. Sort the query by the publisher’s name in ascending order. | 6 | 10 | Use filter by selection to show only the books by the author whose first name is Steven. | 8 | 11 | Sort the query by Title in ascending order. Save and close the query. | 6 | 12 | Open the Books table. Use Filter by Form to create a filter that will identify all books published after 2010 with fewer than 100 items in stock. Apply the filter and preview the filtered table. Close the table and save the changes. | 12 | 13 | Close all database objects. Close the database and then exit Access. Submit the database as directed. | 0 | | Total Points | 100 |

Isreal and Its Kings

...demanding new leadership (1 Samuel 8:1). Samuel had grown old, and apparently his age was beginning to affect his ability to lead the nation. It appeared he would not live much longer and the people feared that the nation might slip back into the lawless days. A corrupt leadership and judicial system was a reason for demanding a new system of government (1 Samuel 8:2-3). Because of his age, Samuel had appointed his two sons to succeed him: Joel, which means "the Lord is God," and Abijah, which means "my father is the Lord." With Samuel as their father, they had received a godly upbringing. But they lived hypocritical lives: they did not follow in the steps of their father. They turned away from God and became greedy for money. They accepted bribes and perverted justice. In determining controversial cases, they accepted bribes and ruled in favor of the oppressor or guilty party. This wickedness reminded the people of Eli's two sons, and they feared returning to the lawless, corrupt days of the judges. Thus, a desire arose within the people for new leadership, the leadership of a king. A desire to be like the surrounding nations was another reason the Israelites requested a king (1 Samuel 8:4-5). Note that the tribal leaders of Israel gathered together and traveled to Ramah. In conference with Samuel, they laid out their three reasons for desiring a king: Samuel was old, and his sons did not walk in his godly ways; therefore, they desired to have a king just "like all the nations...

...511-060 Nike Football: World Cup 2010 South Africa Nike Football revenue had grown from $40 million in 1994 to more than $1 billion in 2008. In just under 15 years, it had reached a sales level that took some of its competitors over 50 years to achieve. Although not the end goal, the 2010 World Cup was another unique moment in time for Nike to create separation between the company and its competitors. Edwards knew he had to seize this opportunity and pull his team together to deliver a campaign focused on delivering innovative products and compelling consumer experiences. Creating deep consumer connections during the World Cup would be vital for fueling continued growth for Nike football in the years ahead. Football and the FIFA World Cup Some people believe football is a matter of life and death . . . I assure you, it is much more serious than that. — Bill Shankly, Scottish footballer and legendary Liverpool Manager1 Football was a game played between two teams of 11 players each, 10 field players and a goalkeeper per team. The game lasted 90 minutes, consisting of two 45-minute halves of running time. It was played with a round ball, on a rectangular grass field (often referred to as the “pitch”) with a goal on either end. Excluding the goalkeeper, the ball was controlled only with the feet, legs, torso and head (the use of hands or arms was prohibited) and the team scoring the most goals by the end of the game was the winner. Football was the most popular...
