Higher Learning, all the characters in the movie have their own problems such as: harassment, financial need, self doubt, and personal safety. For most of the people in the film it is their first year at Columbus University, living in campus is causing them a problem because of racism. Remy is a student at Columbus University, he is confused and feels lost. Later in the movie he meets Scott who influences Remy to join a group of racist Neo-Nazis. Scott believes that he is the right candidate to help the group members from racist nazis reach their goals. There is critical thinking skills in this movie, we have mine-is-better, face saving, resistance to change, conformity, stereotyping, and self-deception. Remy shows the mine-is-better habit. As stated, “This habit is natural enough. It begins in early childhood” (49). For instance, in Higher Learning, Remy states, “This is my world. It’s my country, you are nothing but a monkey. Look at me I am the man, you are nothing” (Remy). Remy thinks that he is better than Malik. Malik is an African American student who thinks that his athletic ability will help him with financial needs. No one should hate a person just because they are of a different color. We should treat everyone equally. Furthermore, all the security in Columbus University treat the African American students differently from the white students. We also have stereotyping habits. Some of the white students think they are better than the African American students, but they are wrong. No one is a slave in this country nor should be treated like one. The Nazis think that Remy did the correct thing by oppressing all the other minorities. They state, “White Power” (Nazis). They all believe that they have the power to do everything, but that is not true. Remy showed conformity, he believes that all the things he did were correct. I believe that Remy
