Long time ago, people already knew the importance of the language. More than 2,000 years ago, the Greek philosopher Aristotle claimed that a successful speech only contains “pathos, ethos and logos” these three areas will have the effect and persuasion. Pathos is the emotional impact, ethos is to convince audience, and logos is to illustrate in a logical way. In the advertisement, “Sueños”, Hillary Clinton aim to encourage the immigrants to have their own dreams and put efforts to make the dream come true. In order to make the advertisement more influential and persuasive, Hillary Clinton use real examples in the society and some inspiring words to make people believe what she says.

Clinton is a candidate for the presidential selection in the United States this year. She chooses two real cases in the United States and shows to people what she say and does are real. First of all, what comes to our eyes is a big title “Sueños”. The word “Sueños” is Spanish and it represents “dreams” in English. Besides the title, we can see some images. One of the pictures is a student who is studying in the university. Another one is a girl looking at the statues of liberty. Furthermore, Hillary Clinton is sitting at a table and talking with a student who is planning to study at the Yale University and dream to become a doctor. What we used to see is Hillary Clinton having the formal and serious speeches on the stage, but in the advertisement, she sits down and listens to the needs of the students. At the end of the advertisement, it shows the graduation photos of two students who are sharing their stories in the advertisement. It shows that they do their best and achieve what they desire to have eventually. Two real cases in the advertisement are credible and it helps Clinton to gain more
