MILLERSBURG — Initially jailed for an alcohol-fueled disturbance and assault on a police officer, a Nashville man was ordered back into custody for a probation violation stemming from a January traffic crash.
After admitting to the violation, Nicholas L. Hiller, 36, of 312 E. Millersburg St., was ordered Tuesday to serve a six-month term in the Holmes County Jail.
In August, Hiller was sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty in Holmes County Common Pleas Court to assault on a police officer. In exchange for his guilty plea, related charges of petty theft and failure to disclose personal information were dismissed by the state.

Following the collision, Hiller's vehicle went off the left side of the road, where it went airborne over a stream and overturned. Hiller, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.
The other driver was belted and was not injured.
Troopers found Hiller to be under the influence upon contact with him at the hospital, according to the patrol.
His original charge stemmed from a Feb. 20 incident at a business along South Washington Street. Millersburg Police were called to the business after Hiller, apparently intoxicated, allegedly knocked over merchandise and threatened to set off a traffic flare inside the building, according to Millersburg Police Chief S. Thomas Vaughn.
Responding officers arrived as Hiller, who had paid for the road flares, was exiting the business. Hiller, however, failed to provide officers with information regarding his identification, as required by law, and he partially headbutted one of the officers attempting to solicit the information, said
