Hira's Interest In Accounting

To help develop a better understanding of Hira’s interest in accounting, information was gathered about this occupation. Specifically, the career counseling library resources were used to research more about the accounting field and an informational interview was conducted to learn more about this occupation from a professional accountant. In this paper, results of the search and the information gathered from the informational interview will be discussed. The aim of this paper is to provide and present this information to Hira, to help her decide whether she would like to further explore the field accounting herself.

Further, accountants computes taxes owed and prepares tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements. Accountants also maintains or examines the records of government agencies. They play the role of an advisor by advising their clients in areas of compensation, employee healthcare benefits, the design of accosting or data processing systems, or long-range tax or estate plans. They also provide advice to management about issues like resource utilization, tax strategies, and any assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Accountants also develops, maintains, and analyzes budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted cost to client’s actual costs. According to O*Net OnLine, 79% of accountants have a bachelor’s degree, 5% have and associates degree, and 5% have a master’s degree. According to City Town Info, an accountant should start their accounting educational training as early as high school by taking courses in mathematics, computer or IT training, or business.
