In the textbook there were many good stories I could of read but the one I decided on was the story “Sonny’s Blue” by James Baldwin. The reason why I picked this story was because I liked how in depth it got let alone I realized how much actual history was behind this story if you read in between the lines you can pick up on it. To me this story had a lot of different meanings to it and the lens I thought would best represent it would be Historical criticism based on how much history is behind it without many of the readers knowing.
